Is Win7 required to play it??? I tried to look up the info on their website... nothing found.

Sadly BF has always had a bit of a problem with damage scaling on normal mode. its always usually taken half a clip to the chest to kill someone. Most experienced ppl on Hardcore go for the head shot right away. Thats how people are able to 1 shot outgun you like that.

Hardcore mode is the best way to play battlefield. the damage scaling is best there.

No, there's absolutely no way every player hits me in the head in every situation. Then again I have shot 10 aimed shots to an enemy with only head visible (cross marks they were hits btw) and he doesn't die.

The game is just a mess, I won't pay a dime for it that's for sure.

lol it's a Beta, not the final release. Alphas and Betas are for bug testing.

It seems I'm not alone with the problems, every single thing in this video fits exactly my experience so far: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YGaP5wTYLtQ

It's just like AH2.  If he dies on your screen, he dies on his screen, no matter where he was.

Lol no. If it was like that I would have no trouble whatsoever getting kills - but it's quite the opposite. I have counted 6 registered headshots at best with the enemy just turning towards me and returning 1 (single) shot which kills me from 100% life. At first I thought it was just bad aim due to full auto and went to single shot mode. I realized that I could shoot an enemy repeatedly to the head without getting a kill - even worse with body shots. One time I ran into an enemy that didn't see me. I unloaded my AK into him full auto for a good .5 seconds before he even saw me. He only had a pistol. By the time I emptied a half clip into him close range he returned 3 pistol shots and walked away leaving me dead!  :bhead

I get the issues shown in the youtube video using 60ms swedish server where in AH I have 170ms ping and very rarely experience lag induced kills. They do exist also in AH but usually only when both sides have considerable lag.

The weirdest thing seems to be also that if I shoot without bringing up iron sights/scope at close range (spray from the hip) it seems results are actually better than with aimed shots. Yesterday I got the PP2000 and started shooting without sights - I finished 3 rounds in the first position 30/7 score. It still took minimum of half clip of direct hits to the enemy to kill them but I got way less of the dreaded 1 hit deaths to myself.

Like i said, BF has always had an issue with damage scaling. especially on normal mode.

Dont worry tho, this is just the Beta, and DICE has a very good track record when it comes to fixing its bugs. Theres been less bugs in the past 3 released battlefield games than there was in Modern warefare 2 alone.

so far the game just seems like a prettier BC2

which isn't a bad thing I guess, BC2 is jolly good

just not very exciting...I'll be sticking with AH :aok
Did you see my dad on dogfights yet?

I had early access to the P.C beta and I've been playing it rather a lot. Things I like:

Movement feels very fluid, comparable to C.O.D.
Hit detection (On P.C) is perfect.
I have experience with web based server browsers before (iRacing) so the Battle-Log type system isn't something new to me. It's extremely fast, clean, exploding with features and easy to update from DICE's end.

And you're talking still about Battlefield 3 right?

I was looking at the stats of players who had k/d average much higher than me - their hit % were less than half of mine. Yet they managed to score way higher kills while my hits seem to do nothing whatsoever. The enemy walks away unscathed after a dozen of AK hits to the body.

Are you playing on P.C? I've heard that consoles are having a real problem with their hit detection.

I've not had one of those moments where I've fired a clip into the enemy with no results. For me, the enemy is killed with 3-4 bullets from my M416.

I'd have to agree that I haven't had any problems with with hit detection on PC and whenever I have had lag it seemed it was server side as everyone was complaining about it.

The game just needs a few bugs smoothed out and it will be good to go.  The beta is supposedly, supposed to measure weapon balance and the code for the beta is TWO months old and many of the bugs for the retail release are already fixed.
