Steve,

Have you looked through your event logs yet to see if something is happening just before the crash?  See if you find a common event that is taking place each time the crash occurs.

Also, if you go into Device Manager, expand "Universal Serial Bus controllers" and look at the power management of each device.  Uncheck the box for "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power."

I never saw where you had replyed to anyone after you opened that thread

so did you by chance, go and make sure your USB powermanagement was unchecked , so that each USB device would not go to sleep if it was not being used ???

also, you posted that you are using a USB TurtleBeach headphone <---- this USB headset actually is it's own soundcard if I am not mistaken

but you also have a dedicated soundcard by Creative.  Is it possible that having "2" seperate sound devices might be conflicting???

anyhows... let us know how you are doing whether you have resolved your issues or not with Windows 7 , etc...

Even if he uses two sound cards they can work for weeks together without a hitch. Probably moving any USB devices to a hub will only help because the issue is common to the USB power side of the MB and the PCI/PCIe bus. The problem gets worse if you have high power USB devices attached directly to the MB along with Nvidia video cards and/or MB chipsets as well as any audio device that puts a load on the CPU (especially the cheaper SB cards). Aces High is not the only program that has this issue. Any one of these devices can lock up the kernel or the kernel lock up the device but the user sees it as a problem only when the program freezes.

Creative did what they could with the higher end cards and by moving to their own replacement for Direct(Whatever) but if you are still using USB audio devices along with filling every available USB port and PCI/PCIe slot its just a matter of time.

The MS solution along with the newer technology MB controllers (supposedly due out in December) should fix it but...

Creative still does not share IRQ's well.  If a Creative card is sharing an IRQ with the USB hub or another sound card or an Ethernet controller, the system will not be stable.

I had the same sound card and kept getting the same errors in addition to sound not "sounding" right.  I removed the card used the built in sound and the problem went away.  I am using the same card right now on another built and it works fine. go figure.

One thing that might help a boatload is to make sure the 285 HD audio device is disabled.
