I forgot. The inherent uncoolness of the P-39 means you must die. So just accept your fate quietly and stop being so difficult. :lol

Did I say the P-39 would die? No, if the P39 pilot is competent, he can dodge almost all attacks on him and perhaps even pull a reversal. The problem is, almost all planes you see in the MA is going to out-run/out-climb/ you, so if they decide to run, you will never be able to get the kill.

the game is concentrated on combat, not on shaking the screen.

IMO, the gondolas ARE needed ...

Unless your buff hunting the under wing guns are a waste. Ruining your speed, roll rate and climb with their added weight and drag. In the MA enviroment it would be unwise to engage fighters with the gondolas attached.

For me survival seems to depend on not missing the first shot. If you are going to have a chance air to air you must practice with the cannon until you are proficient at hitting A/C from 400 in confidently. She is great for taking down ack too, one cannon round per gun.

From flying both, I'd say the p39 can outturn the p40.

Along with the p40 having a faster dive. both can sustain themselves in a dive up to 500mph i believe.

cant really say which is faster tho, but i'll go with the p40.

Just speaking from personal AH experiance.idk what the "Official" documents say.  :salute

I had a 39Q in a 550mph dive last night.   It was groaning a bit but still pulled out with a little trim help.  :airplane:

I think that the P-39 is a good airplane below about 13k.

It rolls decently, turns decently, handles well at high speeds, and is decently fast.  It's not the best at any of these traits, but its mix of abilities means you can be competitive in it.

The Soviets liked the P-39 very much for fighter combat, and 3 or 4 of their top 5 aces flew the P-39.

I would take the 39Q over the 40's.

That 37mm gives a player alot of options when flying, bombers tanks and other target become a option to attack. I have even straffed carrier's with the 37mm and gotten multiple strikes as well as knocking planes out of commission on the carrier itself.

But like said above, don't ever take the .50's hanging under the wings..they are truely worthless. With them being so far out on the wings the firing angle before the convergence leaves less to be desired, because the .50's are always hitting the target at a angle they don't penetrate as well as say x2 .50's being fired down the aircraft's centerline. Leave them at home. Also if you manage your engine well you will not need the drop tank, and this will also save around 50lb's in weight as well as added drag from the shakle's themself's. And always fly your Q at 13-14k and you will buz around fairly quickly.
