the next one really looks like the two Romanian(think that's what they were) mac 90's I also owned.

do you have any drums for them? I had two 75 rd drums and 4 30 rd mags for each one, that was a blast

What kind? Milled? Stamped? Does it have a Fixed Bayonet? Would like to see pics... I would like to own a Chinese AKM.

Yeah, all my SKS's have Bayos. The Muzzle Brake on the M59/66 is actually a Grenade Launcher which are fixed onto all Yugo M59/66s.

is the 1992 Chinese Norinco SKS-S the Paratrooper version? it looks spot on to mine,it's a pleasure shooting that gun. i bought it along time ago for 80 dollars at a yard sale along with her ex husbands Bear compound bow which i paid 15 for lol the Gun is in near mint condition ( very low serial numbers) and the bow wasnt bad either

I love my SKS, the only down side to it is if I don't keep the insides clean is has a tendancy to double fire at random.
Not sure if that is a trait of the SKS in general or just mine.

Hmmm... If it is a Norinco SKS-S it may give you the last two digits of the year it was made like mine... 92 #####. They will be the first two digits of the serial number and they will be separated by a space between the year and the number.

If it is not a SKS-S (It will say on it). Then the only way you can really effectively judge the date is the Arsenal stamp. Does it have a Triangle with numbers in it on the receiver? If yes... the only arsenal you can date is the /26\ arsenal. All others can only be roughly dated by the type of parts it has.

Norinco produced the SKS-S in an effort to fulfill the high US demand for the SKS in the late 80's and early 90s. Importers shipped millions of Chinese SKS's into the US and eventually ran out of military surplus SKS's. In turn they started producing them commercially. Once the love affair kind of fizzled out they started producing "Sporter" models like the SKS-S, M, D and other variants to keep up with the new American love affair of the AK-47. Then the AWB hit and the SKS was neutered but that's another story.

Stamped receiver, bayonet lug and swivel ground off. Made by Norinco.... I should have a photo somewhere..... I've owned it since 1993. I have around a dozen magazines, mostly Warsaw Pact manufacture.... I replaced the butt stock with a Fiberforce, glass reinforced Nylon 66 piece years ago. It's very similar to the Mak-90, except it didn't have the ugly thumbhole stock.

You most likely have a fouled firing pin. You tube the instructions on how to disassemble your Bolt and clean thoroughly and reassemble.

If you take your bolt and shake it, the Firing pin should rattle and move freely inside of the bolt.
