Hey all. Coming back after a year or so out of the cockpit. I've been looking through the squad recruiting announcements, but they all look so good. I figured I'd put myself out there and let you guys know what I'm looking for in a squad and find out what fits.
The reason I come back to Aces High is because of the persistent world. Other flight sims have better graphics, but Aces High has something that nobody else does right. That said, base capture is important to me. My favorite part of the game is running "Missions" and playing in FSO. I like the teamwork aspect. I like taking off from a field together in formation, climbing out to 10,000 feet, and let them know we're coming. I also like flying bomber escort. I get a rush staying high with my head on the swivel.
I'll be honest, I'm not a particularly good player, even moreso since I'm out of practice, but I try hard and I follow orders. Another thing I love about Aces High is that you can play support roles and still feel like a valuable part of the team. I prefer to fly fighters, the Spit VIII and P-51B are my rides of choice, but I'll do whatever the team needs at the moment... run troops, man a wirbel, whatever.
I'd really like a squad that's big enough for me to have a few wingmen online any night of the week. I've been in squads in the past that only logged in for FSO or squad night, and I didn't enjoy that as much. Most recently I was a member of the Airborne Kitchen Utensils, and I loved flying alongside them, but I moved halfway around the world and timezone issues made it impossible to keep in touch (this is why I stopped playing, because I lost a good squad).
