Week of October 14-- Midway
« on: October 10, 2011, 09:56:18 PM »
Battle of Midway--Operation Mai

A month after striking in the Coral Sea, the Japanese launched an all-out assault against Midway Island in what was obviously intended as the first step of a grand attack upon Hawaii and continental United States. The Navy was ready, and the heroic pilots from naval aircraft carriers inflicted a major sea defeat upon two great converging forces northwest of Midway. The enemy lost four aircraft carriers, at least two heavy cruisers, and a number of light cruisers, destroyers and transport - all by aerial attack.

ATTN:Allied pilots!

Last known sighting of the imperial carriers were spotted in sector 10,9,3. Steaming NE.

A flight of b26's were able to locate and rain destruction down upon the fleet. as of now she is burning, but still afloat. With only 1 b26 lost to enemy fire.

Lets sink them jap' carriers boys!  :salute

i think it was in a naval history archive that i stole it from.   http://www.history.navy.mil/ac/midway/88-188-ae.jpg.

as far as the next setup goes, you'll have to ask NR_raven about that.

B-239 with it s 10lbs/sq.ft lower wing loading than the F2A3 Buffalo really has no place in any Pacific or CBI setting.
