My youngest daughter turned 8 years old this past January.  My wife and I decided to take her to Disney World for her birthday.  What we did...  We kept it secret, telling her that we were going to St Louis for the weekend for her birthday.  We drove to St Louis and checked in to a hotel near the airport the night before our flight to Orlando.  I had made up a very elaborate invitation from Cinderella, inviting our daughter to visit Cinderella on her birthday at Cinderella's castle.  I went all out with the caligraphy and gold foil to make it as royal looking as possible.

I got one of the hotel employees to deliver the invitation to our room.

She was very excited when she read the invitation.  She didn't cry like the little girl in the clip, it was more a bouncing off the walls kind of thing.

It was a great trip.

Me too.

Funny story happened at work. I was in a meeting with a customer and a couple coworkers. One of the coworkers was a huge fan of Disneyland. He wore the Disneyland watches and shirts to work all the time. He went quite a few times in the last few years with the kids/grandkids. Somehow the meeting topic changed to Disneyland and the customer was asked how often he had been to Disneyland. The customer replied that he had taken the family 4 times within the last year. My coworker was definitely astonished and probably realized he had meet his match. I think my coworker would have fallen off his chair backwards if the customer had instead said “I have only gone 4 times this year.”

Outstanding!  Spend time with your young ones as much as possible. They grow so quick.

My youngest flew to Dineyland on a band trip. They marched and played in the parade.

My school band went to Disneyland as their yearly trip, they stopped that two years before I got there...was kinda ticked...

That brought a tear to my eye.  I have three little girls and would love to take them there and they always ask me to.  Great find, hopefully someday you can see my kids reaction when we can go.  Again that was great!

Birthdays and Disneyland always go well together, no matter the age.  I actually recommend that it's more ideal, financially, to go with your kids on Mom or Dad's birthday.  You get free admission on the day of your birthday, and that right there, at adult admission rates, is a savings large enough that it's worth almost taking an entire weekday off of work to spend your birthday at disneyland with your family/friends).
