have you tryed lowering your monitor resolution?

everything you have posted concerning the DXDIAG report shows that you are using 1920 x 1080 @ 60 Hz ( showing for both current mode  & native mode )

would that not be pushing that onboard graphics card extremely hard with that screen res and only 128 MB of alloted RAM for the onboard video?

with that onboard video, you should have the option in the BIOS to go and either increase it to a higheer amount or even lower it? ( usually from 64 MB upwards to 1024 MB, is what one normally has the options of selecting...  64 MB,  128 MB,  256 MB,  512 MB,  768 MB,  1024 MB   RAM Allotments )

just a thought to consider.........  lowering that  1920 x 1080  screen res to something like 1650 x  1050   or maybe even a bit lower, might free up some of the strain and allow your Icons to appear correctly, along with possibly increasing the alloted RAM from 128 MB to something higher

anyways , best of luck  Captfish

Ok I just tried to lower the monitor resolution as TC suggested, I went down to 1600x900 and the problem still persists. :headscratch:

keep the ideas coming! but this weekend I will go get the power supply so I can try my old video card.

It does beg the question, are you running the game at the monitor native resolution?  What is that resolution?

the "recommended resolution" is 1920x1080. I lowered it last night to 1600x900, but it didnt change the problem. when i change the resolution i changed it in game to match.

I noticed this post in the updates list for the new version:

Fixed a bug that could cause icon or text colors to not display correctly on systems with low end video chips.

I assumed this was to fix the "icons show up as black boxes" Intel graphics bug.  Think this fix may have created some new problems being described in this thread?

It really sounds like there are resource issues going on here.  Make sure maximum texture size, in the game is not any higher than 256.

Make sure to kill any anti-xxx software as well.  As a matter of fact, make sure no other applications are running while the game is.

ok I tried 256, and 128. I dialed everything down and made it look like old skool AH. problem still persists.

Skuzzy do you think a new video card will solve my problem? or do you think it is something else?

The Intel video chip works with the game and I have tested the latest versionof the game with the most recent built-in video chip from Intel and everything seems to work fine now.

The planes showing up as a box indicates the computers is not loading all the resources the game needs.  Why, I have no idea.  I am not sure a new video card is going to fix that.

Have you tried the "Detailed Terrain" option in the "Options->Graphic Details->Advanced" panel?  Try it both ways.

Also, make sure your colors for the icons is not something whacked.  Options->Preferences->GUI

I don't know if anyone suggested getting rid of your skins...and stop them from auto downloading.....in the screen shots you can see the skins downloading,  maybe the skins are taking up to much of your system resources.....

sorry if someone suggested this already....I really cant think of anything else.....

Ink: it didn't seem to change anything when I had them DL vs not, so I left them, but I will leave them off for now.

It's not just the downloading it's also letting them show on the aircraft. Check the box so that skins don't show on other aircraft.
