See Rule #11
« on: October 15, 2011, 12:06:22 AM »
Since france was involved in the war from the very begining and to an extant throughout the war ,shouldnt we have some french plances????   after all we have the brewster listed as a finnish aircraft which is comical as they didnt build/design it and they only had 44 of them......it should be a USA aircraft with finnish skins and if your argument is that the finnish brewsters are a different spec....then why is an aircraft with only 44 examples built even included in the game?  because there are many other low production a/c i would rather see.   NOW on to the french.
Dewoitine D.520
Caudron C.440 Seagull
Breguet 690 Series
Amiot 350 Series
Morane Saulnier MS.406
and some of these were made in greater quantities than the finnish brewster......and for all those wondering,  NO NO NO they would not explode and have the pilot surrender when you fly within 1K of them, unless we agreeded to that!

if HTC decides to add these planes they may get merged with the italian lineup, but hopefuly get their own lineup  ;)
If your gonna fail, do it in such a way that people will be wondering how you managed to do that.

If it cant be fixed with duct tape, it cant be fixed at all.

The D.520 scored over 100 air kills while losing about the same amount, but most of the losses were on the ground if I remember.

After 1940 almost all the French equipment was Allied supplied for obvious reasons.

The D.520 would be nice.

But for starters, heck, just take the P-40C, chop off the nose and stick on a Wright Cyclone or a PW 1830.   :aok

Hawk 75A-2 - Second production batch for France, either R-1830-SC-G or 1,050 hp (780 kW) R-1830-SC3-G, six 7.5 mm machine guns; 100 built

Hawk 75A-3 - Third production batch for France, similar with Hawk 75A-2;[11] 135 built

Hawk 75A-4 - Last production batch for France, Hawk 75A-2 with Wright R-1820-G205A Cyclone radial with 1,200 hp: 285 built, 81 delivered to France; others to Great Britain as Mohawk IV

Hawk 75A-5 - Similar to Hawk 75A-4. Built under license in China (production was later moved to India), absorbed into RAF as Mohawk IV

According to Wikipedia:

On 8 September 1939, aircraft from Groupe de Chasse II/4 were credited with shooting down two Luftwaffe Messerschmitt Bf 109Es, the first Allied air victory of World War II  on the Western front. During 1939–1940, French pilots claimed 230 confirmed and 80 probable victories in H75s against only 29 aircraft lost in aerial combat. Of the 11 French aces of the early part of the war, seven flew H75s. The leading ace of the time was Lieutenant Edmond Marin la Meslée with 15 confirmed and five probable victories in the type.

although I think it would be fun to fly a few french birds, I think filling out the Itallian plane set should be of higher priority.
