Time for another new plane poll.  This BBS poll will run for one day and be used to set the field for an in-game subscriber poll.  Results will show at the end of this poll but BBS polls tend to run quite differently than the arena polls.  We're limiting this to fighters since we're due for one.

Thanks HTC for not just saying "The games good enough".

Yarbles' Ford Capri comment made me laugh like a maniac.  You'd have to have been raised in England to understand.

I picked the Ki43, the Beaufighter and the Meteor because I want to see new airframes and historically significant ones.

Here are my thoughts:

Beaufighter - historically significant, mass-produced.  I wouldn't fly it except in FSO, but it needs to be in the game. My #2.
Boomerang - not significant, completely outclassed in anything except an EW environment
D.520 - historically significant - only decent French fighter - used widely in combat by the Vichy French and the Italians.   It was a candidate.
G.55 -  Airframe too similar to the C.205 - Not used in numbers -Not a contender for me
IAR 80 - Historically interesting - only significant Romanian aircraft - but it's Romania - slow, underarmed - not a candidate
J2M - Quite significant - strong armament, new airframe - a contender, but too similar to the N1K1 to add much to the game.  It was a contender.
Ki-43 - The highest scoring Japanese fighter -   Hugely significant - New airframe - will be good for FSO and I'll fly it - My #1.
Ki-44 - Fly a Ki-84 - It's very similar
Ki-100 - Fly a Ki-61 - The experience will be much the same
Me 410 - I'd like to fly this - It was a contender for me -  It just got squeezed out.
Meteor - Hugely significant - 1st British jet - new airframe - The F.3 was my #3
Mig 3 - Terrible plane, only used as a stop-gap by the Russians.  Not a contender.
Yak 3 -  Used in large numbers, great aircraft, but pretty much a lightweight Yak 9.  Not interesting enough for me.

G.55 This IS NOT a C202 or 205.  This pane is AWESOME.  Build it Build it Build it!!!!! The version above this, the C56 (same plane bigger engine) was better than the German FW and Bf fighters. This is a great plane.

Me 410 All Variants loadouts requested. Especially the 50MM cannon....The AXIS answer to the B-25's cannon..fun fun

A-series aircraft were armed with two 7.92 mm (.312 in) MG 17 machine guns and two 20 mm MG 151/20 cannons in the nose and delivered as the Me 410 A-1 light bomber.
A-2 heavy fighter with dual 30 mm (1.18 in) MK 103 cannon pack. 
The Me 410A featured a bomb bay for carrying air-to-ground ordnance or for the installation of additional air-to-air weaponry or other equipment.
U1 contained a palette of cameras for the photo-reconnaissance role,
U2 two 20 mm MG 151/20 cannon with 250 rpg for the heavy fighter use,
U4 used the 50 mm (2 in) Bordkanone series weapon, the BK-5 cannon with 21 rounds, to turn the aircraft into a dedicated bomber destroyer. The BK 5 cannon - derived from the Panzer III tank's main armament, the 50 mm (2 in) KwK 39 L/60 - allowed the Me 410s to shoot at their targets from over 914 m (1,000 yd), a distance at which the bombers' defensive armament was useless.

other:  Yak 1  (A better choice, I think, than the Mig 3 for early-mid war Soviet fighters)

I voted for the fighters that would be best added for scenarios (though, the Ki-44 and Ki-45 would be very nice to have, too, for scenarios).  The Ki-43 was a very important plane for Japan, and the Yak 1 would help us fill things out for early and mid-war Eastern Front.  The Mig 3 was in a similar time period, but it's got very weak guns, and the Yak 1 (which was more heavily produced as well -- 8720 aircraft) is a better choice.

Me-410 is probably in the lead followed by either the Beaufighter or the Yak-3. Just my guess.

Given that some AH players may not know what all these planes are I have a suggestion for the online poll. Include a brief description of each plane like:

Ki 43 - Highly maneuverable but lightly armed Japanese fighter.

Me 410 - Twin engined heavily armed German fighter bomber.

And so on.
