The Time: Sept 3rd 1943
The Place: Reggio di Calabria ..The toe of Italy
 
This set up will be a continuation of our invasion of Italy series. For this set up We will be picking up from were we left off from with the “Soft underbelly of Europe and the invasion of Sicily.Following the invasion of Sicily  On September 3rd 1943 BAYTOWN was launched. Operation Baytown was a part of the Allied invasion of Italy
 
The operation consisted of the landing by sea of the British 13th Corps of British 8th Army at Reggio di Calabria. This allowed the Allied forces to get a foothold at the 'toe' of Italy. Operation Baytown would be followed by Operation Slapstick and Operation Avalanche
 

 
The set up will be featuring The P40F

THE CURRENT SITUATION

WEATHER CONDITIONS OVERCAST...

The 99th Fighter Squadron, XII Air Support Command, transfers from Licata to Sicily with P-40's, they along with P-38's are sent to hit landing grounds at Reggio di Calabria base A2... but fail... instead they attack targets of opportunity in the general area.



The allies attacked at Axis base A2 Reggio di Calabria ..The toe of Italy. But failed to capture it

Axis has defended successfully  ...... and won yesterdays round 

 To advance Allies will first need to capture and hold Knight base A2 Then continue and advance northward capturing knight bases A57,A56,A63,v60.

If a country captures a base it will be populated with their aircraft automatically
IE if the allies take base A2 as instructed the base will be automatically suplied with allied Air craft and other tools of war to help them advance.

Squadrons of 109G6 and 109G2,109F4 and c205  have arrived to aid in the defence of the allied attack at Knight bases A62,A63,A64










 To advance Allies will need to capture remaining Axis bases south and north capturing knight bases A57,A56,A63,A64,V62

If a country captures a base it will be populated with their country's appropriate aircraft automatically

Allies can not gain a substantial foot hold in Italy. In spite of their strategic positions off carriers and established land bases...

Available aircraft: At northern bases(V60 north)

Spit IX,P51B,P38G,P47D11,Gvs and bombers split between V60 and C106 and any captred axis bases north of V60. Against 109G6,109G2,109F4,Fw190A5 C205 and Gv at axis bases A63,A64,V62


Available aircraft: At Southern bases(A56 South)

P40F, P40E,P47D11,P39D,P38G,FM2,Hurri_1 ,Gv's and bombers. Against  C202,FW190A5,109E and Gv's @ Bases A57 south  

To win Allies will need to capture remaining Axis bases south and north capturing knight bases A57,A56,A63,A64,V62

NEWS FLASH: The Allied invasion is being held back By Axis Forces

last night resulted in a stalemate as the Axis have held back the Allies over the water.
Making it impossible for them to capture any bases.. But the Allies did manage to keep there carrier alive..

Allies can not gain a substantial foot hold in Italy. In spite of their strategic positions off carriers and established land bases...

WHAT WILL TONIGHT BRING?
