Hadn't heard about this, going outside now... may have to take the camera for a drive if true.
I know there is a University of Alaska (or Alaska State or sumthin) page that forecasts the solar activity and Aurora, but I seem to have lost that bookmark, anybody have it?
i dont think that they are actually that far south, but i could be wrong, im guessing that the northern lights are just reflecting and being shown down there?

I did find the website I was thinking of though
http://www.gi.alaska.edu/AuroraForecast/2 while the forecast was for calm, the current picture says "Extreme" but I'm only right on the edge of the visible ring.
