I think this is a cool, little tool...

It's a Karl Geraet, looks like an artillery piece.....

I don't think this should be added, but it is a nice piece of machinery, look at the size of the shell....

It was more of a propaganda tool than anything. Hitler wanted projects like these built so he can show his military's strength.

Heh.  Five Panthers?  With the effort that went into the development and production of this thing, you probably could have made a Panther battalion.

The seven SP siege mortars were all built in 1940 and 1941 and were actually effective in the east against the Soviets who had built significant static fortifications.

Actually, I was thinking, what if every sector had one of these guys. They'd be easily destroyed as radar, but when left alone, just like radar, they're deadly. Manned gun, same reload time as in real life, but one shot should be able to take an entire town center down. Could be assigned to a base, so when you capture it, you get control.

Wouldn't do much good in game. It's a siege-mortar, not a howitzer. The maximum range with the lightest shell was just over six miles. Also it took ten minutes to reload it.

Take a look at the forces participating the siege.
