According to the article, one this big only comes this close once every 25 years.  Kind of a shame it won't be viewable without really expensive equipment.

This is the Captain.  We have a lil' problem with our entry sequence so we may experience some slight turbulence and then... explode.

Forgot who said this while trying to take a base, but the quote goes like this. "I cant help you with ack, Im not in attack mode" This is with only 2 ack up in the town while troops were there, waiting. The rest of the town was down.

Speaking of Astroids. I read and interesting article about a meteor that landed in the ocean in 1990 (forgot what ocean it was). The interesting part about this event is that if that metor had not landed for another 19 hours along the same longitude line, it would have landed right on the same spot where coalition troops where station in preparing for The Persian Gulf War. The impact what calculated to have the explosion of around Hiroshima bomb. It would have been hard to detrmined how the outcome would have been if that had happen other than the worst case scenario of a world nuclear war.    :O

I am pretty sure that we would have known that is was a meteor and not a nuke.  Especially since you would be able to see it re-enter from angles not in range of the blast radius.

Well there's that and the fact that there won't be any/ very much radiation from a meteor strike.

Yeah, but who would we retaliate against? Everyone?

Wouldn't mind going out if I took my enemies with me, but not if theres the chance I might have taken out some innocent bystander instead of the guy who hit me first.
You started this thread and it was obviously about your want and desire in spite of your use of 'we' and Google.
