Dream on my friend. He will keep riding it in to the ground while the dust continues to gather on those trophies. So grateful to have the Rangers and Mavs to remind us what it's like again. Just need my Stars back in the hunt now.

Even though I'm from Texas I've never been a cowbabies fan. I've been a cheesehead my entire life! We're sitting at 7-0 after winning the super bowl so I enjoy laughing at the cowbabies :devil

There are a lot of folks who are relishing this because many years ago some cool kids decided it was fashionable to hate the Cowboys. Seriously, ask them why they are so anti Dallas. They can't tell you. They just think it's the "cool" thing to do.

49ers and Cowboys have history, dating to the '70s and then the turnaround in the '80s.  Bit of it in the '90s too.

The thing that really annoyed me though was their arrogance in declaring themselves "America's team".  Sorry, but they are Dallas' team.

After Montana threw the ball in 'The Catch' he was knocked down by one of the Cowboy defenders (not rough or anything, just part of the game) and as the guy was helping Montana back to his feet he said something to the effect of "You just beat America's team."

Same here.

In the '70's and '80's I just couldn't stand the Cowboys, then Jerry bought the team.

The Dallas Cowboys never declared themselves America's Team. That's just a myth.
 What actually happened..

Bob Ryan, now Vice President and editor-in-chief of NFL Films, coined this for the Cowboys while preparing and editing the team’s 1978 season highlight film He was quoted as saying:
I wanted to come up with a different twist on their team highlight film. I noticed then, and had noticed earlier, that wherever the Cowboys played, you saw people in the stands with Cowboys jerseys and hats and pennants. Plus, they were always the national game on television.
Ryan told the NFL Network, for their Top Ten Nicknames show:
I saw all these fans in away stadiums. Hey, they're the most popular team in the country. How can I use that? Why don't we call them "America's Team"?
During the Cowboys' first game of the 1979 season, a nationally televised game against the St. Louis Cardinals (Dallas won 22-21), the television announcer for CBS introduced the Cowboys as America’s Team and the name stuck.

NFL films did it, not Dallas or their fans.

At least some of them owned it though, such as the guy who accused Montana of beating America's team.
