Triple Monitor
« on: November 04, 2011, 09:28:06 AM »
I was just curious as to how many other people use triple monitor setup in game and what resoulution they use. I am using triple at 5760x1080 and I love it.

I recently got a third used 1280x1024 for a decent price, and am now running 3840x1024 on my HD 6970 (2GB) video card.

In the modern games that support it, it looks great. In AH I haven't been flying lately since I set this up except for 1-2 offline skin testing sessions, but it works and runs pretty smooth. I couldn't say what it's like in the MA, but I will be sticking with it.

The reason why i asked who is running a triple setup is because I will be making multi monitor backgrounds and I was just wondering what the usual settings were, for monitor size so i can adjust as needed.

You aren't using bezel correction?

FLS: I don't either. IMO it's a waste of effort and I'd rather have the refraction look than miss pixels behind the "frames" like that.

ebfd11: There are so MANY different resolutions and monitors and setups that you cannot account for them all. It's a dizzying array of potential sizes from one person to the next. Better to take a couple common ones and just have folks scale up or down to fit their custom setup.

Like 3840x1024 is a low-end (budget) setup. Many folks run 1900x1080 (x3 monitors). Cover those bases and you'll probably be set for the most part.

lawn we have basically the same system except I have 2 465 vc's.  I run the 5040x1050 in game.  fps are in the high 40's when low fighting over town with lots of cons to full 60 fps.  I just realized it sucks for when you film movies so this weeked I may be returning the 3rd if I get frustrated with filming again.  then again, i got used to the 3 monitors and it feels weird to play with only one.

Krusty you usually aren't looking at all your pixels anyway. Bezel correction looks like a cockpit frame instead of looking like something's wrong.

Semp what size are your monitors??? mine are a standard 1920 x 1080 .. (23" widescreen) same as yours if I remember right. So what you should try is go with the native resolution x3.

With the bezel correction I still get a setup like there is none.

With bezel correction you should see a wider resolution than 3X your monitor resolution. For example my resolution is 6048x1080 with bezel correction and 5760x1080 without it.

Isn't bezel correction creating more pixels just so they overlap behind the "joints" in the monitors? you don't see any more, it's just a byproduct of the way the picture is adjusted around your monitor frames?

The scene is rendered bigger so that it can be masked by the bezels. It looks more natural.
