Before the bandwagon starts delivering these  :ahand for no reason, read the question and be honest about your mood when it seems that every sortie you fly in something positive occurs. That oppossed to having a day when it seems that getting your gear up, before your canopy is riddled with bullets, is an accomplishment.

Yes, honestly the question came to mind when I saw the current giagantic map play itself out for a week.  It has become so predictable and old hat at P113 and C114, that I did something today that I generally am critical of in others.  I went to a fight with no intentions of doing anything other than getting kills and helping other friendlies (but only the ones that didn't drop to the deck and roll in the dirt with the 4 to 1 odds we were fighting against), ignoring any and all calls for country help.  After about 20 minutes of this I got so bored, I logged off to do actual real world stuff.  Could it be my AHaddiction is on a decline?  I don't think so, because now I am even more involved.... got my new terrain editor out... planning my custom arena..... and working on another AH film.  HTC owns my soul  :devil but I fear that the MAs are losing their attraction with nothing presenting anywhere near the numbers to make up for it in other arenas.

I use to  be a loyalist to a country made some great friends.         I save you the ti raid of how I over came my loyalist mentality.     I missed out on friends from other counties and great fights against "country" men.    If your working towards a strategic goal i can see how your country can get pwd.  If you switch sides just for the fight all the chess pieces look the same.

I never fight "the whole country" or defend "the whole country" so I do not pay much attention to the what the country is doing or how the war is going.  I just engage one plane at a time.

To answer your question then, it does not affect me at all.

If everytime I take off I am immediately am riddled with bullets then I have made a gross miscalculation and taken off from a capped base.

I would say 'how my country is doing' has a fairly negligible impact on my mood.  The ground war has little to no meaning to me 95% of the time.  If the situation is wrong, I can find myself in a bad mood when my country is horded up and rolling bases with gusto (We're winning teh warz!  That means we're doing well, right?) because it quite often makes it tougher for me to find the fight I'm looking for.

The difference is, I'm not a mudmover.  The OP appears to be.  My view of it is, most of the time there are more than enough people wanting to go on the offensive, I look around for places to put up a fight against the enemy.  If it turns into a fight, I'm happy.  If I spend a while chasing down singletons because there are no red bardars to speak of, I don't have fun and I log.

The gnashing of teeth and general whining that is often exhibited on channel 2 bothers me more than anything that is actually happening on the map or in the air.

Back when we had the 1 hour country switch it wasn't uncommon that I would switch to the losing country just so I wouldn't have to fight other countrymen for the few scrapes on the table, so who "wins" the map is of little consequence to me, when I'm playing the concern is the other planes in the sector with me, or the base I'm flying from or flying two. Rarely do I look much beyond that.

Okay, Ill bite...

I was logged on at the time, and the numbers in the arena were 59 Bish, 51 Knights, and 59 Rooks.  Hardly hording numbers.  There was a big fight at 113-114.  There was also one big fight on the opposite front...

But we're to believe you weren't helping your country by fighting the enemy where he was fighting yours?

I fly Knights and I enjoy the hordes attacking the Knights and get bored quickly when the Knights are attacking in too large a group.

Doesn't affect me as the map just resets and you start over.  As far as teams, they're just chess pieces, if they were country based I might get more into it.  Personally, I'm more interested in surviving the mission than the 'war'.

I'm proud of you. Defending is noble way of helping your country. A thankless job with none of the glamour of base capture, but it has to be done.
You are in a maze of twisty little passages, all alike.

It depends on two things, how much beer I drank and how much beer I got left.
