Eh, a bit more than a coffee stirrer, but not enough to be worried about. Once it hits 6 then it gets fun.

I read on fb (almost as good of source as wiki) that USGS had upgraded it to a 5.8. Close to that 6. But the USGS page still says 5.6 so whatever. Still a strong quake for here

I read over past days about this large and active sunspot 1339 , 8 times larger than our planet , is going face the Earth for next 7-10 days . This events could be connected, coronal mass ejection must have some kind effect on earth crust.

I'm hoping to get a better light show here in Texas out of this spot if we can get a earth directed solar flare.

Action maybe too far west for me, we'll see how it plays out. I'm curious about the timing though, not much on night time tornados.

A 6 actually has almost twice the strength of a 5.8, using this handy equation for comparing scores on the richter scale

((10**1.5)**6)/((10**1.5)**5.8)

I'm beginning to wonder. I felt an earthquake for the first time in Iowa a couple years ago. My dad 67 yrs. old, never experienced before either, but he did just this year in Va.

Time to stockpile liquior, guns, and ammo .........

You know Yellowstone is about to blow? The magma chamber is larger than the state of Texas, and once it starts to find its cracks I bet something will have to give in..  :noid  :bolt:

Yea that's no fun. Chased a night time tornado near silom springs, AR. It was pretty scary lol
