Bulb went in the wife's car. Headlight. Here are the first couple of sentences from the owners manual of the car detailing how to change the headlight bulb.

"Jack up the front of the car and place on stands for safety. Remove front wheels."

Really?
Yes.
Access panel for the low-beam headlight and turn signal is in the wheel arch and cannot be reached with the wheel in place, the high-beam bulb, which is in the same cluster can only be changed from the engine compartment after removing the air filter and battery.

I also had to replace a single LED in the instrument panel (did all 7 while I was in). It took me 2 hours of dismantling the dash to get to the bulbs. Every part of the dash HAS to come off.

So, 2 bulbs need to be replaced and it takes the average guy almost 3 hours just to reach them. Putting it all back together is another 2.

5 hour job.

Nice work Chrysler!

back in the 60's i'd have agreed with you on the mopar being better....that's from a guy that likes fords.

the problem is that chrysler isn't doing anythign worthwhile right now. that aberration they call a charger is junk. and ugly. the challenger is beautiful, but agonizingly slow, unless you want to plunk down zl1 or gt500 money...and then the challenger that might match a gt is still slower than its rivals in that price range. and it doesn't handle as well either.

and i can tell ya from driving it.....the new 5 liter is a beast.....and i've not taken her past half throttle as yet, seeing as she's not fully broken in.

we all know that Mopar ruled the heyday of Muscle.....but that is not why I love MOPAR......I don't care who is the "fastest"   or who sells more....

ford sold more then anyone....still cant stand them....except of course the 69 MK1 ....

I feel the same about Chevy except I like them less then ford....

pontiac.....I wont even comment on how much I think they suk, yet I like the 67 firebird....

I LOVE MOPAR for one reason

this Baby right here

The absolute toughest car/motor ever made.

NO FORD OR CHEVY could withstand what I put this car through...period......I know.... I left 4 non mopar cars (ford and Chevy) on the highway....all with broken motors...this baby NEVER left me stranded EVER.....California and back, Florida and back, all over new England.....

the Movie Vanishing point has nothing on me and what I did in this Challenger.....

6 and a half years I owned this baby lost 3 races....2 of those were to other Mopars....so she was more then fast enough.....the whole point is that 340 was UNBREAKABLE.

she screamed and went like a rapped ape as they say, for as long as I asked her to.....NEVER before or since have I seen such an amazing car.

no one or nothing can make me change my mind....I know what I did to that car what I put her through....

damn I went almost straight 20 hours at 125 plus.....she had no issues with that at all.

just a little ol' 340......best motor ever.

but like I said I don't care what others like, world would be boring if everyone liked the same stuff.

which boggles my mind because I hate working on newer Fords, especially pickups, then any other make anymore.  They suck as bad as Chysler IMO.

actually I think the New Challengers are by far the best retro any company has done(look whys).......it don't matter what anyone says.......I drove one........ I know exactly how they match up to the early ones....trust me...........they are pretty damn awesome....

now the Charger on the other hand if you were speaking about those I would be in full agreement with ya.

there's one of the chevy suv's that uses daytime running lights. you need to remove the grille, to get those bulbs.

challenger is ythe best looking of the "retro" rods. but they are unfortunatly the worst performing. this is where i have my problems with them. if ford and chevy(even though chevy had to use foreign designs) can make their "retro" rods perform as well as they do, then so can(in theory) chryser.........

i just replaced both low beams in a 2000 mercury sable. i had to take the entire headlight assembly off of the car. the plus side of that, is that it still only took about 4.5 minutes to do both.
