All of this the designers made it almost impossible to work on cars crap has been around for a long time. I remember my Uncle had a Chevy Impala with a V8. To get the rear plugs out you either had to pull the engine or drill large holes in the fender well to get to them.

Then again I also remember buying gas for 18 cents a gallon for my car back in the very early 70's and how everyone talked about the economy going belly up if gas went up to a dollar a gallon.
DEFINITION OF A VETERAN
A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life."

i remember being told i'd be spending the better part of the day doing plugs on a v-8 monza. i was told that i'd be pulling the engine half way out. little did they know i like to prove people wrong. and i did, on both counts.  :devil

My Silverados bulbs are a snap, going to the store to pick them up takes more time then installing them   :aok

Sorry to hear about the pita you had to deal with TinX

Yup takes less than 5 minutes on a silverado.

I have a few(too many) old cars around. They tend to keep me busy, and out of trouble..no time for dwarf vid's Butchers always sending me address's for.
Three are Datsun's, a '73 240z, '74260z and '78 280z. The two later ones run but I've retired em from daily driving as they need refurbishing, the 240z I bought from a guy in line at pizza place when he saw me driving 280z, $400..he had 4 distributors couldn't make it run, oil pump(which drives dist) was inproperly installed.
Anyway..bought my first new in 1974($2999 + ton on dealer fees). Was REALLY surprised that manuel said similiar to OP. One must remove tire then access headlight bucket from inside wheelwell. Still better than 'new' bugs!

FORD....

Fix Or Repair Daily

Found On Road Dead.

Oh yeah? i think i seen just about every maker of car on the side of the road broken down, you know what maker i see the least on the side of the road? FORD i was born 94, my father bought a 96 ford, the first year they were curving edges. I grew up with the truck and have COUNTLESS memories. one memory i don't have though is it ever failing to start or breaking down. Its been in several accidents but never got totaled. It soon was given to me so i could go to school and to work. One day i was blinded by the sun and I slowly pulled off the street so i wouldn't hit oncoming traffic. I failed to see the utility truck parked and rear ended it.

it felt as if i had lost a good trustworthy friend and i wanted to cry. I took the grill with the logo off and kept for memories and got a new truck. A almost new looking 97 ford stepside that was owned by a aircraft mechanic. He had done some work. It had a different exhaust outtake, a improved air intake, and a flowmaster. When we took it to a garage to see if it was as good as it looked the mechanic said it was in perfect condition and was well cared for.

skyguns...i hope you're online right now.....while i find that ford emblem amusing, i would like to kindly suggest that you remove it, before you get yourself a rather lengthy vacation.

that said, when i used to drive tow trucks, i mostly had jeeps, Chryslers, and buicks on my truck. had the occasional honda, some ford tempos(broken tie rods), some infinitys(those mostly used to give starting problems in the cold weather), and the occasional toyota.

the dealer wanted to charge me 65 bucks to replace the 3rd brake light on my ranger as it had burned out.  I said no fricking way, went to the autoparts store, bought 2 light bulbs for 65 cents, removed 2 screws, 5 minutes later. job done.  oh yeah the dealer wanted to replace the whole thing as it was in a sealed unit.  it goes both ways, sometimes mechanics are honest and really does take time to do things but mostly they're a bunch of thieves who will steal from their own mom.

by 3rd brakre light, i meant the high mount, in the back window. i think a ford engineer defected, and went to work for chrysler to do that.

If you ever decide to replace those flattop's, I have some roundtops with tight throttle shafts.

The surface corrosion is common in florida cars.

I had a pair of carbs like that on an old Datsun 1600 roadster. Neat car, just a copy of the old MGB but fun to drive. I remember having to add ATF to the carbs through the top of them. Smoked like a destroyer on smoke screen duty for a little bit until it burned off the over fill.  :lol

The ford focus HID headlights are made with a revolutionary concept that makes it possible to offer lights of intensity.
The headlights uses a tube of xenon gas and small amounts of other noble gases placed between two high voltage
electrodes that produce a bright bluish or white light that activates the electrodes. The regulation of light is done by
the quality German ballasts. The resultant light beam is of high intensity and never fluctuates

Ford headlights are  preferred because they are a complete plug and play system; power efficient ( about 35w of electricity);
has a longer life of 3 to 4 years, safe to use facilitated by its bright nature on the road and are attractive, cool bluish
or white color which appeals to the eye and makes all things easier to see.

So there!   :D

It will go between 80 and 100 miles before you charge it again depending on the terrain and your foot.
The cost to charge it will vary between 2 and 4 dollars depending on your utility company. If you have
a short commute to work, this is the way to go. Many garages offer free charging stations. You can wave
at your friends filling up at the gas station.
