Hand wash can be worse than spraying it yourself. Many have no idea how to care for the paint.

this is why i'm going over the links to the products and advice you guys offered in golfers thread.

I got rid of my radar detector when I went to super quiet turbo cars.

Haven't had a ticket since.

COOL......
i don't ever intend on taking her to a car wash. i'll be washing her by hand.......what cleaner are you using, and what wax?

oh.....i'ma loading up on paintballs. a bird pooped on her yesterday. it is now open season on anything with wings.  :devil

side note...i got a bit lucky last night coming home from mcguire. guy about a half mile in front of me in a bmw suv hit a deer. i was doing about 75, and he had just passed me. i managed to miss the deer, but still drove through a bit of the debris from his vehicle.

Go to griot's garage and get the starter kit.

 :rofl

i dunno about elsewhere.......but here in nj police tend to pull over certain things, more than others. mustangs are one of those to get stopped more often....as are camaros, vipers, vettes, any of the japanese turbo toys...........

oh yea....i've listened to different exhausts for the gt's online. not a single one of them really truly sounds better than stock. they're just louder. it ain't worth the cost to just make it louder. if i could get that sound of the green hot rod that steve mcqueen drove in a certain movie.....that'd be worth it.

If they do that then you have a substantial gas guzzler tax on top of the cost. Not to mention they have to have their whole line of vehicles meet a certain average.

The little engines your speaking of are turning mighty fine HP these days.

I"ve always loved the stock mustang sound, from back when my Dad drove them for the CHP.  Once he got enough seniority to get the morning shift (late '89s early '90s) he'd bring the mustang home for breakfast and report writing, and I'd hear the burble of the 5.0's exhaust all the way down the street.
Everyone I know, goes away, in the end.

For Police that was not stock. :)

Glad you have good memories though.

i think the police mustangs had slightly different exhaust.

like i said...if i could find a set of mufflers that'd make her sound like that gt390, i'd grab em, and install em. otherwise, she sounds perfectly fine, and more than menacing enough just as she is.

actually, those of us that know what we're doing, know exactly what's going wrong with them.  :devil

The standard 1965-1967 425 cu in (7.0 L) was called the Super Rocket, and was the most powerful engine option for the Oldsmobile 88 and 98 of 1965-1967. Compression ratios of 9.0:1 at 310 hp (230 kW) or 10.25:1 at 360 hp (270 kW) were available in the U.S.

2012 3.7 liter 6 cylinder is rated at 305, a mere 5 hp lower than a hot rod 425? and the 2012 camaro 6 banger is rated at 312hp.....2hp MORE?

 the venerable 455.......
A larger big-block was introduced for 1968 as the Rocket 455 at 455 cu in (7.5 L) to replace the 425s. It kept the 425's 4.126 in (104.8 mm) bore and bumped the stroke to 4.25 in (108 mm). 1968-1969 455s were painted red, except in the Toronado, where they were painted slate blue metallic, while 1970-1976 versions were metallic blue. The "Rocket" name disappeared from the air cleaner identification decal after 1974. Although production of the 455 ended in 1976, a small number were produced through 1978 for power equipment use. Output ranged from 275 to 400 hp (199 to 298 kW).

rated at power ranges from lower than a 2012 gt to.........still lower than a 2012 gt.  :aok

 just sayin.
