Just don't be one of this ultra melons that put HID bulbs in reflector assemblies. Them SOBs will blind you.
Only if you buy the cheap HIDs. Properly installed quality HIDs do not blind oncoming traffic. In reflectors it is important that the light source be located exactly where the manufacturer intended.
Many folks think the bright and dim lights are two different brightneses. They are not. All that happens is the lightsource is deviated slightly to reaim light. Those with 4 headlights, 2 being dim and 2 being bright, may use different bulbs. They are actually the same except the filament is slightly moved for a different reflection.
HIDs are actually much cooler than the halogen bulbs.
