On the top pic, when the guy wanted a side tattoo done, you'd think he'd be nice enough to shave his pits eh?  :uhoh  :lol

Retired airport manager, currently collecting a small pension and an even smaller social security check which - forces me to be a landlord and rent two apartments in my house. Been renting now for about ten years - good tenants are hard to find !

Also, I have a boat and am licensed to deliver non-potable water to yachts on moorings and anchorage in the local harbor. Hopefully, I will get that off the ground, literally, next summer.  Doing a valve-job on the engine now - it's an old Volvo diesel..

All in all - life is good - I'm happy and content in my life...

'Project Manager' for a small light pole company.  I do sales, costing, quotations, manage the project from purchase to delivery.  I also do structural designing and CAD work to ensure that the pole is structurally sound and build the package to go to the customer for approval.  I work with engineers a lot to ensure that all applicable codes are factored in and accounted for.

It's boring, doesn't pay enough, and I don't look forward to getting out of bed in the mornings.  On the other hand it does pay fairly well and, in this economy, that doesn't suck.

As others have said prior I didn't start out to do this.  I thought I'd retire at General Dynamics after 30 years but I was a victim of the 'peace dividend'.  *shrug*

You and me both.  I graduated with my BS in Aerospace Engineering just after the first Gulf War.  Everybody I knew was getting pink slipped.  I never worked in my field.

Now I do something totally unrelated, but I make a good living.  It's fun, most of the time.  I am my own boss.  Best of all, the nature of my business requires relatively few hours of my time when compared to other self employed folks.

Cable tv/internet/phone installer

 mannnn....i think i feel sorry for you.

 you must have to put up with a LOT of bs from pissed off customers.

 funny thing though......my cable was out here at the shop a few weeks ago. a truck had driven through the cable....dunno how, but he did....ripped it right out.
 i was disgustingly nice to the call taker, who said they couldn't get anyone out here till between 12 and 5. it was 930 when i was on the phone. the service dude pulled in at 1100. he assessed the situation, and went to work installnig a new cable from the pole, to my shop. it started raining as he was setting up, was nearly torrential downpour when he was up on the ladder....and literally stopped as he connected the final connection. he refused to take anything to drink, or a snack(i keep plenty at the shop), but i did tip the guy rather well for what he did for me.

I'm a 55 year old retired pro motorcycle roadracer.  I raced for 30 years.  102 wins, 43 crashes.  Now I run a Honda/Kawasaki motorcycle store in Phoenix.

I limp a bit when I walk, my right hand and left forearm are kinda mangled but everything still works.  I can no longer remember every win I had, but I sure remember those crashes.

going to start college next year.I Haven't decided on becoming a pilot or getting my BS in Aerospace engineering. I am currently working on my private pilots license. There are alot of pilots as well as engineers on this forum. Any pointers on those two options?
<Insert witty remark here>
