Which version?  The -1 and -2 were basically failures, with the -3 variant having fixed most of the problems of the -1 and -2 variants.

Years ago I met a vet who flews these during WW2. He proudly claimed to have drobbed a bomb on a Japanese carrier. I have no reason to doubt him. I can't remember if it was the Marianas Turkey Shoot or right after Leyte. In any case, the biggest take away was how they referred to the SB2C Helldiver. They called it the Son-a-B****, 2nd Class. what a hoot!

Saw one fly at the NAS Pensacola Airshow last week definitly not the sexiest bird.
