Totally agree with you Baumer.

In this king of GV fight, I'm always the poor schmuck that instead of quietly waiting for the prey to fall into the trap, will rather go WTH is going on and roll out gunblazing. That's about right before I get killed usually. That's also why I dont bother GV'ing anymore.

The mechanics of GV spawns within Aces High means that any prolonged fight will become a camping situation. I'm not defending the current situation, it's just a product of how the game works on many levels.

Think about this, how often do you see a prolonged furball (with 15 to 20 players) over open territory between bases? As soon as one side starts to lose parity in the fight, the furball will always shift towards one of the weaker sides bases. This is because of a few factors like;

  • weak side player needs to extend and gain some alt before coming back to the fight
  • weak side player running from a fight he can't win
  • weak side player running from a fight towards help coming from a friendly base
  • winning side chasing kills

WARNING: Deep Philosophical Thoughts Ahead
So it's not just GV's that see a shift where the fight is happening but a progression of how fights develop in Aces High. If you watch some of the really good sticks fighting in furballs, you'll see that some of them are conscious of these traits. And they will hold their position when they are winning a fight just to allow the bad guys to come out to them. But most average pilots will chase the few targets left when they are winning just to get the kill.

Or you can think of it like this;

WARNING: Shallow Generalization Ahead
Getting killed in a GV at a spawn that's camped, is the same as getting vulched on the runway.

It all depends on the mood you're in.  ;)

I agree 100%, How many times have a good furball started - only to have someone bomb**** the hangers and ruin the fight when neither side has an advantage? How about certain squads who fly in and bomb all the hangers before anyone can defend? Or certain people who bomb vehicle hangers in a GV fight in which nobody has an advantage what so ever? Its the strategy that has been around lately, the ones who bombed me today certainly didn't complain about it, and I certainly didn't either, as they wasted an Egg on me and not the vehicle hanger.

I admit 35% of those kills were camped no question asked, however I beg to question - if both sides have no advantage in the fight - and one side loses numbers in which they simply get overran - is it fair to scream "camper! or vulcher".

Its an all to common scenario, one side loses an advantage, and the fight can be shifted quite easily by shutting down a base or etc.

However I will stand and say its been one of the best fights I've seen in a very long time, and quite happy to lose more perks then I gained today.

and the PM's roll in....  :lol

Sorry folks... SWranger was Butcher's largest recipient of cornhole shots.  I didn't word that statement correctly, I didnt mean for it to sound like Butcher's shade account but rather his stats show that Butcher is the largest and most prominent donor in his "been killed by" column.

Yeah you've been around long enough to know how the shades get caught.  I'm sure you only use yours to spy,  ya know intercept bomber formations, goons, 110 missions etc..

But I have no proof so I'm just stirring the pot.
