Another winter GV skin, this time for the Panzer IV H. This tank was part of the 24th Panzer Division based in Southern Russia in December 1943. The 24th Panzer Division was formed in 1942 but was later completely destroyed at Stalingrad. It was reformed in 1943 and fought on the Eastern Front suffering heavy casualties during the Soviet offensives of 1944 and 45.
This tank is unusual in that it has zimmerit anti magnetic mine paste applied to the spaced armour skirts and that it has a four digit turret number. The area between the skirts and the side hull was left unwhitewashed.
The photos I used for this skin can be found here at the German
Bundesarchiv.
