Make a very lucky tater shot last night. Got a big salute form the opposing pilot. In the after discussion on 200 I recounted the luckiest shot I ever made. It happened like this about 2 years ago.....
I was in the first 6 months of playing AH and I was in a P-39. A 262 dove in on my six and fired at me. I banked hard left and he missed, then I swung it back right and tried to shoot him on the extend. I fired about 15 37mm rounds, all of which missed and his Icon read 1000+. Three zero and pulling away in a slight climb. I lined up the retical and fired one more desperation-frustration 37mm shot. A moment later there was a big flash, and the 262 exploded.
Turns out it was Grizz. He explained that he was trying to get 100 kills on a single sortie and was up to 40 when I got him. He asked me if it that was a 37mm from 1K. I told him yes, but lamented I didn't have it on film. I asked him if he'd send me the film. He replied....
"No!"
He would have a better chance of getting hit by a bolt of lighting, In AcesHigh, than ever getting hit by that shot again. Very lucky indeed.
Now when I recounted it last night, Sunsfan replied "Nice story bud."
Hmmm, was he implying I made that story up? I suddenly flet like a big fat liar telling a fish story.

So Grizz if your out there and want to help out, perhaps you could confirm? or finally post that film?
