It really amuses me when you look at a lot of 80s horror and action movies how the entire movie would be over in 10 minutes if they were set in the present due to the presence of cell phones.

On another note-  What kind of idiot turns to a life of crime in Gotham, New York, or for that matter, Metropolis?  Steal a car and drive to another city before you begin your B&E career, idiot.

DC hero's are not.

The justice league. Raven has appeared in Gothem and calls it her home-town. Superman has paid it a visit.

Batman has appeared in Metropolis to fight brainiac and the Hive alongside the Teen Titans before.

DC Universe:Online is fun and addicting. Free to play for ps3+pc users. Has all the major DC superhero's and villians. Can choose to be good or bad.  each has its own reward. good story line.

I went with a hero, death stroke build. with one-handed and rifle's being my weapon build, along with gadgets and batman as my mentor.

Im currently decked out in Demon-armor, after doing raven&the teen titans missions, along with zatanna,docter fate, cyborg, and ravens missions against Raven's father Trigon.

In DCU, Trigon's influence reaches even Gothem, where his followers take control of robinson park, surfacing the pillers of Hades in an attempt to open a "Gateway to hell" in the middle of gothem for Trigon to transport to earth through.

The teen titans never went to gothem as a whole in the comics, but they do in the game.(along with donna troy).

Granted, alot of stuff doesnt make sense in the comics, but some DOES.  

Edit: as to the internet batman thing, im willing to bet he carries on him some sort of jammer, which prevents cameras seeing what he doesn't want them too.

I believe in the DC universe Metropolis is that universe's version of NYC. Metro resides in New York.

Gothem has switched around many times. Originally it was New York City, but with metropolic being created, they had to change that. it was sort-of chicago for awhile, Before it became its own fictional stand-alone city.

 if you REALLY think about it, the superheros are more dangerous than the criminals they apprehend. i mean.....look at how much civilian property they nearly ALWAYS destroy in the process of stopping, or apprehending the bad guys.
