My Chemistry teacher was a Dr. and I learned more from him than anyone else. Kids always complained that he was teaching college level stuff but that wasn't true. He taught it like it was a college class but the material was straight from the state curriculum, he treated us like we were adults, and expected us to learn the material one way or the other. Seeing him after school or during lunch was fine, and I took up that opportunity several times. The way he taught the class and designed the tests meant if you didn't take the class seriously, you failed. Kids always had excuses like learning disorders and lack of time, but I did most of my studying in school while everyone else was gossiping and playing with their phones and I figured out a way to know the information that worked for me.

I learned a lot more than Chemistry in that class, it was my favorite class in HS because it was actually a challenge and I only got rewards for actually working. Shocker.

I had a physics teacher like that. My AP US history teacher was like that as well. It wasn't until much later that I appreciated what I learned in that class.

Teachers that prepare you for the real world are much better than those who give out mind-numbing busy work according to a certain curriculum

Photographic memory makes things easy.

Took an AP exam last year cold hadnt read a book on it in a couple of weeks aced it and got a 4.

Love that guy! We watch the eye of nye in my biology class which is slightly different, no kids on the show

Nooooo, I paid for it myself with something called a job 

 when i didn't want my grand pop to trash his 67 mustang due to a blown engine....i got a job. he eventually gave me that car. when i wanted to hop it up./.....i worked more hours. when i broke it beyond fixing, i got an extra job to get another one.

 when i had a new 1983 mustang 5 liter, i wanted a garage to put it in. i had at one point 4 jobs in order to earn the money to put one up, and paid off bills at the same time.

 it seems that the only thing i know how to do well, is work.....but that's a good thing.
