Anyways, to get this back on topic Eagl, i think that MS could give a bit more of a discount on the 250GB system...maybe 20 dollars less? its just out of my reach  :lol

The 250GB was also $100 off, $299 vs. $399.  For those who do online gaming, they also had a better bundle with a bunch of points and 3 months of xbox live.  I don't think we'll be using the console that much so that bundle wasn't very attractive to me.  But I almost went for the basic $299 250GB kinect bundle.  I read that regular external USB drives work and I have a couple of those lying around, so maybe I don't need the extra internal storage anyhow.

It seems common sense cannot prevail over the Internet, so this will be my last post in this thread otherwise I fear I may give myself an ulcer. eagl if you are thinking about purchasing one I would definitely get the 250, because I think you will be kicking yourself later if you don't. I have an old 120gb elite that I have about 30gbs left on. Space goes FAST.

Can't I plug in a USB stick or USB hard drive?  I have a couple of old USB drives I could plug in and forget about.

Pretty funny that she'll go to jail for a deal she could have gotten online  :lol

YOU SKIPPED OUT ON THE BUNDLE?!?!?! :bhead

you just missed some great stuff there, 3 months of xbox live is 20 bucks, and the points (probably 5600-ish) is worth about 50. that was a great deal. also, with the USB drives, all of those work, i have a few i use myself for music and such.

Yea, it looked like a great deal... for someone who wanted all that stuff.  I mostly want it so my wife and kids can do the kinect dance games.  My wife had a lot of fun playing those games at parties and my little kids LOVE music/dancing, so that's what it's going to be used for initially.  If I need storage I'll plug in an external drive (I have several obsolete IDE 200-300GB drives just lying around) and if I had enough time to do online gaming, I'd probably spend that time doing something other than console gaming anyhow.

you know you could have bought at least 3 or 4 different kinect games with the 5600 microsoft points off the xbox live marketplace, and thats a pretty good deal.

I thought it was 1600 points...  The more layers of complexity they add to the system, the less likely I'll participate.  Points?  Online account?  Need a credit card info or have to sign up for an account that I need to cancel when the free period runs out?  Forget it.  Gimme a simple discount and I'll pay cash.

Nah, I just heard she turned herself in though, she actually was able to get the purchase and make it out of the store before the police arrived, she finally turned herself in today
