Matchmaking system.
« on: November 26, 2011, 02:06:08 PM »
I see so many people on here complaining about being ganged/alt monkied/etc etc in the MA's and the DA. well, why not have a match making system for 1v1 fighting on here? like most shooter/fighter games have.

Be pretty simple. Looking for a 1v1? Simply go to the matchmaking, Then the game will match you up with another person looking to 1v1.

You'll be sent to the 1v1 dueling sections that are in the DA, only you wont be in the DA. Each player will be sent to a field, and have 30 secs to choose the plane and loadout they desire. before the game auto-chooses whatever plane their curser is on. Once on the runway, the game would count down from 5, after that, they are free to take off, and duke it out as they please. After someone is shot down, a msg will pop up on both players screens. asking if they'd like to rematch, or move on.

Could also have a custom matchmaking process, where a player can create his own "Game" and set the bounderies for the duel. like:
-Altitude requirment and/or restriction.
-Whether to start the fight at low, medium,High alt.
-Choose whether to spawn on the runway, or an air spawn.
-Restrict planeset choice from early, middle,or late war.
-choose whether to have icons on or off.

And things of that nature. Like i said, their are alot of people complaining about the ganging behavior in the MA's and DA, and a 1v1 matchmaking system is how i feel is the best way to solve the problem.

Hope someone likes this idea.  :salute

You can already do most of what you want with the new custom arenas!

If you would have attended the meeting lastnight you would have been made aware of the different settings and parameters that you can adjust to get just about everything in your post.

There's even a forum for custom arenas where you could post invitations to your duels.

You control the setup and can arrange it however you like.

Not everyone tunes to 200. And even if you did a 1v1 going somewhere sin the MA/DA, it still runs the risk of being interrupted. With the matchmaking system, You and your opponent would be in your own locked hidden server. with no one to interrupt the fight.

The custom arenas are fun, But you got to think, not everyone in the game comes on the forums, Or even knows how to work the custom arenas. people im talking about are mostly the casual gamers.  What if someone logged on real quick, and wanted to have 2-3 quick duels to pass the time? Creating a custom arena, fixing the settings, then waiting for someone to notice it takes time. As does going into the MA's and asking for 1v1s on 200. The matchmaking system would be a quick and easy way to get straight into a 1v1.

Could choose any plane the match rules allow. EW/MW/LW, or any at all. It wouldnt be like putting an 109E into a match with an f4u-4.

Im sorry, but how does my idea warrant a facepalm? MANY highly successful games have matchmaking systems similar to what ive described. Call of duty. Battlefield, IL2. WOT, RE,HON,HOP, And i bet World of warbirds will have one aswell.

Frankly, posting that pic to describe an idea that's been hugely successful in other games just makes you look dumb.
