I think it would be really cool if HTC were to add some early war naval aircraft such as F4F, SBD, B5N, and Val (forgot the technical name) so we could do special events such as Midway,Coral Sea, Guadalcanal, etc. These battles, esp Coral Sea and Midway (with the correct terrain of course) would be awesome.

You'll find there are quite a few people, myself included, that agree with you.  Off the top of my head, SWulfe (see next post down) and Puke both are dying for Wildcats!!!  I want a Dauntless, myself!

Of course, I also want early Hurricanes, Spitfires, 109s and 110s. (BoB scenario...    :D )

Sure these planes would be in trouble in the MA (tho with a good enough planeset, a RPS could be implemented), but it'd help out in SEA attendance (or so I hope anyways...)

I hope HTC realizes soon that many of us want to participate in these types of events with these types of aircraft. I picture these engagements in my head and it makes me wanna fly...Alas i am nowhere near home, and won't be for 2 weeks...

You only had to say "F4F" to get me interested!   ;)

I only hope they model the windows near the landing gear wells so I can look out the bottom and watch the planes I vulch explode! <drool>

Any camo job, I just WANT me and F4F-3!!!

   :)
EDIT: In case no one understands what I mean by the windows by the landing gear wells... look at the rectangular objects behind the landing gear assembly in this photo: http://lisar.larc.nasa.gov/LISAR/IMAGES/LARGE/EL-2000-00206.jpeg

I linked it because it's a 400KB picture.

Oh yeah, F4F-3 and others from the early part of the war.  I'm not just talking Pacific Theater (which is my favorite), but European too such as the Battle Of Britain...when the war was at its darkest.

I'm confident this game will find its way to implementing a full war planeset as time allows, but I'd be remiss in not reminding the makers that there is demand for early-war planes at least on my part.

BTW, can you NOT include them little windows on the Wildcat.  I'd hate to be dogfighting someone and look up to discover some of you guys in skirts do not wear any panties.  <shivers>

I really want a early war planeset so i can fly allied. I like playing for the good guys, but the late war allied stuff is too uber IMO and not very fun. But Id LOVE to have dauntless/f4f/spit Mk I/d520 stuff like that.. i actually prefer allied stuff up until about 1943 or so.. (except for the 109 f4 because she is sweeeeet)

dauntless

the pre-war F4F-3s came fitted with a tube sight. When war broke out, or shortly there after, it was given a standard dual ring sight (one inside cockpit, one outside 1/4 the way from front of windscreen to prop).

It's such a small plane too!

Not sure if this could work.1st reset only 1939 planes available.2nd reset planes from 39 and 40.3rd reset, planes from 39,40 and 41 and so on to 1945.Then start again.

For the early war fanatics like me, might wanna pick up "The First Team" and "The First Team and the Guadalcanal Campaign" both excellent books on early war naval fighter combat.  Must haves for the bookshelves.

Agree x 2  :D

Both in the F4F3 and the rest of the early war planes  :)

Best way to get people to fly early war planes must be to crank up the perkpoints they earn when they kill a late war plane.
That way it would be much more rewarding to fly those old flying machines  ;)

You smell that? Do you smell that?
Napalm, son. Nothing else in the world smells like that.
I love the smell of napalm in the morning.
The smell, you know that gasoline smell, smelled like victory.

Couldn't agree more guys, as a CM we'd LOVE to do some PAC events, but just don't have the planeset at this point.
