Thought this King Tiger had an interesting enough history & unusual paint to throw it up on the skins forum.

Blue 332.

The names of the irrelevant have been changed to protect their irrelevance.
The names of the innocent and the guilty have not been changed.
As for the innocent, everyone needs to know they are innocent –
As for the guilty… they can suck it.

I have pics of it restored at my website under Patton Museum Photos.. www.51hangar.net

Cool :aok Based off of the old photos I would say that is a very accurate repainting of that tank.

Those are some really nice profiles.  I'd lost more than a few perks to put em to use. :aok

Scherf posted this colour film of exceptional quality on another thread. The black Tiger I is a very close match to the profile listed. Also some good reference material for German skins.

Lyric, that Tiger is not black, but "Panzer Gray" the standard paint used for the early part of the war. That film is just very dark.
This pic is more the true color.

I think it must have been a very dark batch of paint that they did that unit with. There is no hint of blue at all in that film & I can see blue & greys very clearly else where in the film.

It is not that uncommon though for the same colour paint to look very different from batch to batch.

Info of the tank in question as to how it was painted.

German Grey swatch.

As you can see with the other Tigers they are much lighter in colour than the one in the video.

I would say just a very very dark batch of paint. :aok
