I don't see why this is a big deal.  Just another guy who got a DUI.  Who cares who he is it's not like he was drunk while flying a plane or while manning an ATC position.

Well, pilots are probably thinking along the lines of the fecal storm your flying career runs into if you get an automobile DUI conviction.

I should have been more clear.  I guess what I mean is that he should simply be taken out of his office and his flight status taken away.  Of course it will go into this BS multi-month long story which will finally culminate in him being fired.

HE resigned.  You might say that he is human and he makes mistakes, yes he is and yes he does and will. HOWEVER ask ANY person who works for the FAA/Or any agreements with the agency... any ALCOHOL related charges will get you fired and never rehired/loose licenses/certifications/ect....he should be held to that same standard. Period.
