Jager,  can you post a copy of your Dad's  DXDIAG report, please Sir?   Also list any anti-virus or software firewalls being used and if you are using ATI Catalyst Control Center  or if you are just using the ATI Display Driver only........  the CCC will kill some of your framerate.  just using the Display Driver and using the Aces High settings will help you increase the fps some ( not sure how much on his particular system tough )

also post the screen res used and what graphics settings and textures /shadows being used........ ( or just take a screen shot and post it instead of typing it all out )

I am sure we can help you figure it out

TC

Talked to Roy and found the issue.  Stupid Nvidia buries it's drivers so deep in Win 7 you can't get them all out.  I'm just going to nuke it...  I'm backing up files and reinstalling win 7 now.  I'm pretty sure that'll do the trick.  I'll let ya know if that works.

It worked but FR are still not close to what I had on the other machine.  I think I'm just going to get him a new MB and processor for Christmas and call it good.  This time he'll get a Gigabyte board.  Asus/asrock can suck it.

The memory speeds of that motherboard are holding you back now.  ASRock motherboards are not the fastest boards around.  They are the low end line for ASUS.

Ya know what's funny?  The other machine has an older board as well.  In fact, it's FSB is 1333 and 800 mhz on the ram.  The Asrock board is 1600 fsb and 800 ram.

I think the real difference is that the other machine does have a pci-e 2.0, while the asrock board is a 1.0.  After wiping everything out, installing just the video driver (11.10) and leaving CCC off, he's getting 50-59 fps with most of the eye candy on (left shadows off).  He drops into the 40-45 range sometimes, but that's to be expected.  Overall, we're satisfied with the performance now.  Asrock can still suck it though.   :D
