Clipboard app
« on: December 12, 2011, 12:20:54 PM »
OK so I came across a third party app for FSX and XPlane that turns your iWhatever or your Droid phone/tablet into an interactive GPS with the game.  It uses software installed on the computer to read the GPS info from FSX and transmit it to your device through your LAN.  The device then uses an app to show that information.

Then I thought "how cool would this be in AH?"   Let you use your phone/tablet for map/clipboard functions from within Aces High?  Since it doesn't do anything more than the clipboard would do then it wouldn't really give those with it a competitive advantage over those without it.  Maybe also if it were a free app download non-players could install it and see how heavy the action is on the map and perhaps that would entice more people to sign up?

It's just an idea but something I felt would be really cool to have!

HAHA no.. when AH is ready to support multiple displays in that manner they'll do so.  I just thought it'd be neat to be able to pull up the clipboard on my phone to be able to see the map without taking up screen space.. or to maybe set up a mission or whatnot.  Like I said I ran across something similar for FSX and automatically thought it would be neat to have in AH.

Are you sure that's FSX?

Looks like an standard high alt chart.

Thats FS alright. It has high alt, low alt, sectionals, etc.

Right, but nothing on it says that it's FSX.

So in FSX what kind of stuff do you see on there besides your plane?

I see. So you get charts, weather, instruments, and GPS. I think I'd like something like that for AH, you'd be able to see what's going on in the arena before logging on.

+1

However I doubt HTC will actually make it.
