You will hear me laughing, much louder than your stall horn as I watch you auger whilst I am still airborne at < 40 mph.
pshhh ok then IL be in a d3a. IL be sure to make swipes for it, would be like a 51 against a b5n... Hell IL just up a F2B.

In real life, having shot hundreds and hundreds of maingun rounds, do you know how absolutely difficult it would be to hit a plane? With the new proximity rounds much different though they didn't have these in tank calibers during WW2? I've read of one occassion where a German Panther popped a 51 during WW2. I'm sure it happened more then this though no where near as frequent as it does in AH. Just say'n...

hopefully after this they will make tank guns have no effect on airborne planes...

doesn't matter, the pintle gun on a tank will tear it up anyway.

thinkin it wont be much stronger than a ww1 fighter, and they are blown away by .30's all day long..

Nah, just fly at 1K. And as Storches has no reason to fly directly into a tank they'll always look like a moving target therefore it will be hard to kill them with the main gun.

While this is definitely true I main gunned a C47 with my Tiger2 flying perpendicular to me 1.5K out. Probably the best shot I've ever made on a plane.

Tell planes to stop flying coaxial to my main gun and perhaps I'll consider not pulling the trigger...

Sorry, don't have the source though I believe it was a historical magazine. As I recall it was one of those 'blink your eye' moments told from the pilots view of diving on a Panther, watching first a puff from the main gun then a hit and engine problems. Could have been a 20mm from an unseen Whirble, no telling though he thought it was the Panther. As for it happening in other cases, I wouldn't be surprised for the odd Panther v Il-2 kill in the vast Steppes of the Soviet Union. I've never read of it but willing to believe with thousands of birds and tanks and likely many more shots a few landed.

Sorry, memory and speculation.

if it happened more often with historical proof then i wouldn't be whining. old Gv system i was fine with it. I prefer simulation over game and you see trying to aim through a straw to hit planes is more acceptable to me. But having a tank commander say "hey aim at that plane" when realistically the gunner would have to find a needle in a haystack to do so. I love the new Gv system but it is all but too common...

It's top speed is 109mph so I hope it'll be available from vehicle bases.  Pretty long ride to the front even from the closest friendly airfield.

I think its a balance issue, Tanks should easily be able to shoot down aircraft with a main gun, otherwise B-25s, IL-2s and HurriD's would run rampage through GV's like no tomarrow, one key issue is however, if a plane climbs over a certain ...alt the gun can only raise so far.

Unless you are like me who sit on a hill, because i can easily drive backwards off it and range my barrel almost 90 degrees upward which deter P-47s from diving on me, pure luck as I have never been able to do it again.

if i don't get to see the tanks before they see me with this update coming up. This "balance" will be off. Just more reason to ger rid of it, besides that's what mobile AA is for isn't it? Not to mention fighter support...

Agreed %100.  A tank being able to shoot down a fighter with its main gun in AH is a travesty.
