Scoring
« on: July 17, 2001, 03:48:00 PM »
Im sort of confused on how the scoring wwworks.I read the formulas in Game Overview, but I'm still a little foggy..
1:Bomber Rank..Is this total score flying buffs,or are jabo missions and field captures also part of this?(Also, are there anu general tips to getting a high rank?)
2:Fighter Rank..I know this is seperate from Attack, but a couple of questions..Do I get more points for killing a Tempest as opposed to a 109f?Also,do I get more points if I kill that 109f in another 109f as opposed to a Tempest?I notice this is the case in Perks earned but not sure on rank points..
One more thing, any tips on how to get a good attack score? Are certain targets worth more than others?(Same with buffs, are BH's more points than a VH?)<S!>

There are no score modifiers per fighter plane in regards to what you shoot down. They all give you the same points on your "rank", perk points are a different matter though.

SirLoin - gettin' overly concerned with yer MA score is bad mojo, and is sometimes followed by burnout and the need "to take a break".   :)

I like the scoring aspect of AH.Now if I could only understand it.(eg.I seem to have the most bomber points, but can't get past #13 in Bomber Rank).

Why the hell does FIghter and Attack ranks need to be seprate?

I would like to have all my fighter kills scored in one catagory, but I would also like to earn points for all the damned things I blow up when I'm carrying bombs and rockets.

I hate when I kill bunkers, hangers and other things and get no credit at all for it, since most every flight I score as fighter, even though I usually carry bombs and rockets, just in case.

SirLoin, Have you tried flying a goon into a base? I know whenever I do my bomber ranking seems to increase a bit.

Sirloin,
Here's how it works;

In bombers you are ranked in each of the five categories:
Damage / Deaths + 1, Damage / Sorties, Hit percentage, Points, and Field Captures.

Suppose that you are ranked # 1 in the first 4 categories, but ranked # 1000 in Field Captures.
Your total rank/points would be 1004.
Someone else may be ranked 150th in all 5 categories, giving them a total rank/points of 750, placing them well above you.

In the AH score system, it is far more important to not suck in any one category, than it is to be outstanding in one or even most categories.  If you want to improve your ranking, compare your stats in all 5 categories to others who are ranked high.  Work on your lowest areas and you will see big improvements in your rank.

Maybe it's because 'pyro' thinks Country AND Western music are two different types of music as well.

sorry, couldn't resist please don't charge me double    :)

Why is there Attack versus Fighter??

A LOT of people asked for this quite a while ago. This was a feature added by HTC per customers requests.
