On second thought
« on: December 27, 2011, 01:28:34 PM »
After having looked at other forum listing's, a lot of ideas were shot down (no pun intended)because the plane or item never saw the war. The atomic bomb did see war--- Twice.I can hear the whining now so need to post a reply, particulary the one's who fly little and talk a lot, but say nothing.

Pyro has said that HTC never says never, except in the case of the atomic bomb.

Sorry, but this one will never happen.

(Well, I'm not actually sorry.  :p )

I've given the subject of the A-bomb a lot of thought, and I would have no problem with it being added if severe restrictions were placed on its use. Some examples:
  • Only a single bomber, no formation for protection, can up with the bomb.
  • The bomber will fly in a path drawn like a cv's course at a certain altitude, and the path can't be changed midflight.
  • The bomb must be used on strats or HQ.
  • The bomb must be perked, meaning the player looses perks unless the pilot returns to base with the bomb

With this, the pilot wouldn't be able to fly the bomber (except for during the boming run and maybe at landing), he would be in a gunner position.

The result would be that the Atomic Bomb is added, but it is very time consuming and difficult to use.

Make it thirty thousand perk points... non refundable...which get divided among the players on the other two countries flying at the time the idiot drops it.   Have fun. pay me.

Disagree. The atom bombers in WW2 didn't even have their guns on them. I think it would make more sense to have the plane pilotable all the time, just my thinking.
