A sporting idea for the self respecting competitor
« on: December 30, 2011, 10:07:27 AM »
If you join a mission with thirty people in it pick a ride with at least an equivalent ENY value or higher. The P51d for instance should be flown with missions for five or less participants otherwise your just being a sweetheart' IMNSHO. That way if you succeed you can still be proud, and if you fail you don't look like a total dork. Think of it this way if your mission has thirty in it and your all in a heavy P51d your one sixth of a sport and five sixths metal midget because 5(ENY) goes into 30( number of participants) six times. Do it for your sake of own spine and those testes may yet find cause to drop. Just a thought.   :noid:bolt:

Please, no.  I don't want to see the Mossie's name dragged through the mud.

You'll just see even more FW-Run90s then usual.  Unfortunately, the 1 pass haul buttocks crowd has airframe options on both ends of the eny spectrum.

 To late for me the die is cast. I know what you mean though, actually I would like to put the mossie on a pedestal. I was thinking about missions with numbers in between 5 and thirty also, but you are right. Not to worry though its not as if I had influence to I bring to bear, cant even get my own squad to stop flying "crutch" planes on mass.

The same mindset of players that enjoy holding hands with 30 other friendlies also prefers taking the best planes out most (if not all) of the time.

Shocking, isn't it.   ;)

I agree 51 hordes are getting old...  If that is what the OP is getting at.

Mix it up a bit.

That is what would happen too.  It is the only 30 ENY aircraft to offer good speed, good bombs and good guns.

Oh, but did it happen that way in WWII?

One thing I did enjoy was creating some-what believable missions. I don't do them anymore, because I never got enough support, but I'd run RAF themed missions with Lancs and Spitfire escort, B-25 raids, P-38 fighter sweeps, etc. I didn't ever get much participation...Only a few mission makers do. On a few occasions I got a good sized 38 sweep or B-25 raid going. Those were always a blast.

Floatsup setup a really nice B25 mission the other day.  I was still in flight, so had to jump aboard after the fact, and decided to up a P38.  It was some of the most fun I've had in a long time.  I found out that while 99% of the time, the 38 will be the number 1 target in the sky...  you're completely ignored when there's 20 B25H's to shoot at.  It's not really picking if they willfully ignore your presence right?
