Weren't you having FR problems with Aces High? If I had to guess I'd say maybe your video card or power supply took a dump.. but it really could be lots of things.
Remove everything from your computer that it will boot without including all peripherals, video card (if you have onboard also) any sound cards network cards, etc.. and see if it boots. If so then put one in at a time until it won't boot then you've found the culprit.

Sounds like it might be the power supply, but if it is, then there could be other problems as a power supply going bad will usually take something with it.
Do like Tigger said and see what happens. If it works, then it is the power supply.

I suggest you have your PSU looked at anyway.

Well HDs can go out on their own but I have not had that happen for over ten years. As a PSU ages its supplied power will have more and more ripple to it as the filtering capacitors age (the filter section is primarily chokes and capacitors). That shows up as (usually in this order) 1) audio anomalies 2) data integrity issues 3) failed components 4) more failed components 5) total failure. While we live in a disposable age where failed parts like this are usually replaced a PSU can be rebuilt. Whether it is worth that to you is your decision. Continuing to use it after it has shown signs like this is also your decision.
