you're alright midway

S!

he's alright, but you're also right in that he's overly "admiring" - one can respect and admire another's abilities without being sycophantic in the process.   :aok
Surrounded by suck and underwhelmed with mediocrity.

:huh Big word, Shane, but does not apply to me.  One can have fighter pilot heros without expecting some form of approval or acceptance in response.  Levi being a FPH of mine that I have never seen in game nor I expect any form of approval or acceptance. He is just an awesomely skilled pilot based on films I have seen. As for Bruv, Grizz, Yenny, and all my other FPHs, their acceptance is not my goal, acquiring their level of skill is.  I do listen when they point out problems in my fighting, but that's far from any sort of sycophantic relationship.

:old: Watching, listening, admiring, and learning from the best is a quicker path to being awesome.

Shane, Shane, Shane.... You gonna be my Mr. Psychobabble hero?  Can't wait to down your LA7 again and again and again and....

tangy sauce will soon 90%+ pwn self-proclaimed awesomesauceness.   You know it too.  :)

I knew you were going to reply, I almost even added "(<--- likes making midway look up words)" and tossing in the definition of *how* it applies.

I'll do that now.   :aok

syc·o·phant (s k -f nt, s k -). n. A servile self-seeker who attempts to win favor by flattering influential people.

http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/sycophant  <--- even i learned something about the etymology of the word.

I need only to point to NOMOHO currently, although many more examples are to be found, such as you sucking up to malakya (or however it's spelled) a week or two ago (also related to HOing.)

Is this what you will do if you acquire these 'awesome' skills Midway?

(And no I don't mean shoot down Shane's LA7).

Oh, i totally overlooked that aspect of his post.  :noid

Heh... he's too far behind the curve and a) not getting any younger b) not doing the things his FPHs did to get to their level of skill c) hasn't shown any innate talent that would elevate those skills to FPH levels, all of which possess both skills and talent.

He works hard at it, no question, but he continues to limit himself.

Shane, Shane, Shane....  Define for me an ambitious skill-seeker who attempts to improve by watching and learning from the best.  Then you'd be more on target, but then again your aim OFTEN is off causing you to miss your target, huh? :cry

Oh and you missed on makayla's spelling too, but you suspected that.  I guess with so many years of practice missing your target so much is now old hat to you.    :ahand

Keep practicing, one of these days your hit pct will approach Bruv's, maybe.   Bet I'll get there before you.  :aok

 :P

Good point, Nrshida.  I want to be a man of peace (thru strength -- of character).  That takes time too and I very much appreciate you pointing out my failing here.  Another moment of weakness  i am considering my way now.  Thank you, sir.  :salute

Im still laughing at that picture of Bruv.........

not in a bad way Bruv..........

its just funny...I started flying in AH to kill people...the one and only reason....kill suckers and not go to prison.......I get it in my mind that the red guy is the enemy and must be killed, so you picture in your mind, some hulking evil monster at the controls of the enemy plane....

then I see that picture....and just laugh...for I realize...I am the Hulking evil monster.

Finally, someone gets it.  :)

Food always gets my attention :salute :)

Any pics of said food products :)

Well Zack, I'll share with ya a few teaser shots...

One of the 4 roasts, about 9 pounds before cooking, after about 8 hours on the smoker (approx 4 hours open to smoke and 4 hours wrapped to finish), ready to be pulled

Pulled and ready for sauce...

3 racks of baby backs, dry rubbed, smoked 3 hours, wrapped 3 hours... they fell apart!

Accompanied by home made potatoe salad, smokehouse beans, and my favorite, chipotle lime slaw..... :rock :rock :rock

Wash it all down with Newcastle, of course!
