Skins- A question and a wish.

I understand the rule of WWII-related skins only in the AvA,Scenarios, And other Mainly WWII-specific areas...


...But why have that rule in The Main Arenas? When they are the least WWII Specific arenas in the game.


My wish is just basically to let us have more user-created skin freedom for the MA's,  It wouldnt really harm anything inside the arena. I mean, We have U.S p51's dogging it out with Britain spitfires, What harm could non-WWII skins be in the arena?

I personally Would love to get into skinning. And probally would, If we were aloud to make non-WWII skins for the MA's. I just don't like the restrictions on skinning currently.

  Just a wish. If Im missing some key element that is the reason why Non-WWII skins are banned from the MA's, then please forgive me.

Thats a simple fix.

Just have all the user-created skins be listed in skins section of the BBS. See a skin you like? Just download it in-game. Dont like any of the skins? Then it wont effect your in-game skin list since they have to be downloaded.

You can fly with custom skins if you like, just make one and put it in your skins folder.  The only downside, or upside depending on how you look at it, is that it will only be visible to you.

funny that you swish this today, I was just thinking earlier on trying to make a less ugly desert skin for the Hurri D but I gave up, turns out I only have the ability to make it look worst then possible also when I save the bmp it changes and looks even worst

reason for no custom skins  is perhaps you dont want somebody to make a big red skin for gv's where it's easier to spot them.  or at least it was mentioned somewhere else.  it might give some people an advantage.

You can do that right now. Just like AKAK explained no one would see it besides you. Feel free to make it and post it on the BBS, perhaps someone would download it.

you dont understand, you can replace all the skins with one that is just a bright red skin for a tank.  the other players dont have to download them as it's not really necessary.  you can just make it the default and it will give you an advantage over others.

Oh, You mean by sitting the red skin as the default skin it makes every other tanks skin the default skin? I didnt know that.
