« on: January 05, 2012, 11:59:18 PM »
New thread, post anything you want!

Been having fun with a highres texture pack, and started a private server with my brother.

First floor of my house

Stairs up to second level

2nd floor/bedroom

Roof

Storage/Crafting room under Dyl's room in his house

Farming (Wheat, Sugarcane, Pumpkins, and Watermelon)  Dyl's house can also be seen.

Nice little house Pigs. :)
I tried that Texture pack once but something about it always seemed off, almost like they went so hard for realistic it felt off. But no denying it looks darn nice!

We've had to rebuild in Omega since the last Minecraft thread. Had a Server Wipe with a new hosting service. Getting a new Hosting Service on Tuesday (more ram, upped player cap, better support) but keeping the map this time. :P

My new town on my private server, got 15 people who live here
Housing side of the town I have to keep expanding with MC edit to make room
Houses catch on fire often so we have a fire department, when the zeppelin mod comes out we will have flying water tankers and fire trucks on stanby, I rigged all the houses with redstone so if one catches and destroy's the redstone an alarm at the fire station sounds
Running the plane mod so we have a runway with runway lights and a huge hanger
We do sorta have an economy in a way

Zaytark (family) re-built it on the Server. He had made it before but alas, the server wipe...

That's ridiculous. How many people play there?

On our Server we have 16 people registered at the website, and about 20 or so who sign on with some regularity. Think the most on at 1 point was ~12, was confusing as all heck to keep up with as an Admin! :D
With any luck this new Hoster is our last change so we stop losing some people in the changes. We've changed Hosters 3 times now (including this time) since we started hosting online in ~February 2011.
If anyone wants to check it out the IP is 50.31.55.172:25565 | and we'll have the new Server open to public on Tuesday Night!

You use an outside host? I host straight from my computer, lol. But my comp can handle it, 8 gb, planning on putting in 2 more 2gb sticks, or changing out my 4x2gb for 4x4

Yea we're about to start using McProHosting. It allows better up-times and reliability vs locally. I know personally I don't want to run a server on my computer 24/7 even thought it could handle it. This way anyone can join anytime, even if our computers are off. :P

Oh geez I know how ya feel there. We have to Download the map every so often and edit things anymore. Hoping the Importing Option we added doesn't come back and bite us with requests galore...
One thing I would love to have that yours has that we can't, Single Player Mods. Things like Planes are a highly requested mod and there's no Bukkit mod for it. :(

Pigs, the server hosted by a company costs monthly. We're upgrading to a $25/month but they go as low as $10/month.

A few of our Users seem to require PvP on occasion, so something a few of us built was a PvP Colosseum (bout all I did was build the enclosed obsidian Mazes):

Yup, broke college student here, lol.

I think adding memory to my computer and keeping it on 24/7 is better and cheaper, lol.

Umm pardon me for asking but what is the point of minecraft except a gigantic waste of time?

The same thing could be said about Aces High (except for saying that will get you lynched here). To me, I think they are both extremely enjoyable games that I play with friends. Only difference is that AH has had an impact on what I want to do with the rest of my life, while I play with friends I know in person on minecraft. Try playing the game with a non  biased mindset before you knock it.

Also, these aren't Legos, legos don't have particle effects. :p
