CV Request
« on: January 07, 2012, 01:03:03 PM »
Hello,

Was flying today.  I had taken control of a CV group to help with base support efforts.  I plotted a zig-zag course to help avoid it being a bomber target.  Shortly after the CV got in range of the supporting base a player (not to be named) having just switched countries that morning,  took command of the CV and set the course straight and in a direction that had no seeming tactical value.  Minutes after the CV course change by the "country jumper" bombers appeared and hit the CV.  Result = scratch one CV.

The "country jumper" next took command of another CV and within minutes bombers were over it.  The timing could not have been better for the bombers to be at the location and time of the CV.

In both cases the CV's "country jumper" commander did not take any evasive maneuvers to avoid the bombers (that I could detect anyway).

Request
Can a program change be made where if someone switches countries they cannot take command a of CV group for 8 hours or the equivilent to help avoid this type behavior?

Thanks for considering,

+1, If someone can't switch for so many hours they shouldn't be allowed to command a CV or shore battery.

+1 to the request of no CV command for at least 2 hrs minimum, and take it one step further, country selection, once a 24 hr. period minimum for LMA.

Reason, persons - whose names will be withheld, have jumped sides when mission were about to launch and would destroy said mission for the perks, imagine getting 20 kills in a set of LANCS on gv targets be waiting at the spawn point if you "happened" on a mission launch.

Just a thought.

This is an ANNOYING abuse of the country selection feature, as is the "mission report" espionage ... Both could be prevented (in many cases anyway) by placing any country switcher on PROBATIONARY status for the first 24 hrs and not allowing them to control CVs or join missions during that period. It's not a perfect solution, but ? might be better than allowing the system abuse to continue.

There is nothing wrong with a suggestion to improve the game.  Making a great game even better.

Thanks for all the positive feedback on this suggestion.  It is rare that we get this kind of support on an idea.

Perhaps some of those that would oppose it are the ones that abuse the game in this way.

And to take it one step further, name change takes a month to change names, country selection, in LMA, once a month also, that would definitely end the country jumpers.

+1.  I'd say 24 hours in a country before you can control a CV.
I edit a lot of my posts.  Get used to it.
