I don't get why some turn off auto take-off. I see no disadvantage or advantage, except it's easier.

I have found the stall limiter to be a hinderance on the deck stall fighting...in fact, leave it on down there and you'll die a lot more than you live.  BnZ for a living and its probably great.

I have the stall limiter on and only BnZ bombers.  Win more fights stall fighting on the deck than I lose.

You will always be at a disadvantage with stall limiter enabled flying against someone that doesn't, regardless if it's E fighting or Angles fighting or the controls you use.

Ok...so if it's easier, why do people turn it off?

If the CV is turning, turn the stick..  :headscratch:

The reason I have autotakeoff turned off is that it is more realistic that way.  Taking off and landing are major portions of flying an airplane, so I like it to be a part of my flying in Aces High, too.

Other advantages might be (not sure, since I don't fly with it on) that you can maneuver better on takeoff when your field is being capped/vulched.  I go to fields that are being swarmed by the enemy, take off from the hangar, and use the rudder to maneuver, barrelling out of the hangar in some direction that is less expected, still working to get airborn as quickly as possible, but then staying maneuvering right near the ground just after lift off.  That might not be possible with autotakeoff turned on.

I keep it on because it lets me just open up the throttle and kick the wep if I'm upping from a semi-capped field. That way I can focus on where the enemy aircraft are, how to avoid any potential picks, and what needs to be done.

Besides that, if I'm not taking off in a combat zone, all I have to do is tap the rudder and auto takeoff is gone.
You started this thread and it was obviously about your want and desire in spite of your use of 'we' and Google.

No difference.  As soon as you move the stick it turns off and probably actually helps you get off the ground faster as the automated control inputs are more precise.

:O :O Was that you in that film? If it was how do you make a plane stall like that?

Yeah it is, but I am not the best person to learn ACMs from. there are lots of trainers that can explain the moves way better then I can.

only fly with mouse that may be why

I would seem to think that using stall limiter turned on, would help you a great deal olds......  since you are using a mouse to fly with

if that is what you have  for a controller, then no one should rib you / hound you about using stall limiter....

as someone else noted earlier, if you keep your plane within its flight envelope  ( between stall speed & compression speed ) you should not experience to many problems to where the stall limiter will hamper you , not unless you get severely aggressive and push the edge of the stall ( AOA ) regardless if you are fast or slow speed wise while maneuvering

if you are experiencing improvement with it while using a mouse, then Good on ya !!!

You must be losing to the guys who have it off, and beating the guys who have it on.

If your absolutely new to air games then having it on may be required till you learn to be smooth and not ham fisted on the controls.

If you leave it on it will become a crutch that will get you shot down more often than not. You will develope habits that will be hard to break once you chose to become more advanced in your maneuvering capabilities.
