i have talked to alcron abou his connection and he says that he has satelite internet but lives out in the sticks basically but i used to install satilite tv and dont matter where your at as long as ur signal strength is good from what i know ur hook up should be good also but havent messed with it in 7 yrs so idk but its not the big C word for sure when i play regularly i get called that at least once a week but all i do is GV for 7 years and they wonder how i can 1 shot kill you lol hello 7 yrs in a GV i should be pretty good by now lol

Satellite uplink has always been a poor choice.  When I used to sell the stuff, we had to tell Gamers and Online Traders that it's not a streaming connection, but sends in packet bursts, and can wait to send the bursts until there is enough data to send.  This causes unpredictable lag, and is horrible.  You get better speeds than with dialup, but it's not true highspeed internet... Also, you normally have to use a dialup connection for the upload packets.

It's been 10 years, so maybe technology's changed *shrug*

They still have the issue of being 22,000 miles above the equator.  So figure your packets have to make roughly a 50,000 mile trip to get to wherever your game server is, and then back to your computer (100,000 miles round trip).

There is nothing that HTC can do as the problem is with the player's connection and not with the game or HTC's servers.

people don't realize, that As bad as the lag is for you - its no advantage for him - all these whines are from people who clearly
don't understand how the internet works.

The only difference is the Reaction time, if he's so used to being laggy and slow, then his reaction has to be faster then the guy shooting back.
I generally will kill him 9 times before he gets that lucky shot and kills me. Only problem is the lag factor can be a constant pain, because more often
then none I will fire a kill shot and nothing happens, due to the lag - however on some ocassions I've had rubber bullets, but if I kill him once
I know only to fire one shot and wait for him to blow up.

Really it's a huge advantage. He gets to shoot 2-3 times after you "kill" him while you site there and watch your round hoplessly pass through him.

Since I'm in an M18 most of the time I rely on the close up 1 shot kills. It doesn't work with him even if I make the "kill shot" from the rear. He still has time to turn his turret around and kill me before he dies.

Got me thinking about a guy that used to do that years ago.. Remember Guido???
He did it so bad, and so PERFECTLY ON CUE, everybody swore he was using a lag switch on his modem..
You had to guess where he would pop up next to shoot at him.. So perfect it LOOKED like a cheat..
But it was just connection.. Nice guy too, hated being labeled a cheat..

I absolutely can't stand when he's in a tank battle. He has so much lag its unreal. After you put the kill shot in him he can still get off at least 1 round and sometimes 2 before he dies. Continuing to shoot him doesn't do anything because your end thinks he's dead so your round don't hit him anymore. There should be a lag limiter in the game and if you have anymore than 3-4 seconds of lag you should be booted.

Try to put yourself in his shoes he only has internet that is available he is a good kid I have talked to him several times.
Would you want someone to tell you that you shouldn't be able to play the game you love.

Offer help instead of insult get him to clean up processes to make machine run faster.
Skuzzy has said anything under a 300 ping is good and most lag is caused by pc performance.
