Goode Co. is pretty good...Brother-In-Laws BBQ on Freeport has some good brisket and links (also fairly close to Deer Park) As far as Mexican, really depends if you want traditional Mexican or Tex-Mex. But El Toro in Baytown is never a bad choice. For steak, there are plenty of good Steak Houses around Houston, Saltgrass has a pretty good one, and if you don't mind driving down to Galveston, 40 miles or so, definitely try Gaidos, they have steak and seafood, both are good, plus your on an island, what better place for seafood than right on the Gulf.

If they want to run to their ack or friendlies that's fine.  It's up to me to catch them and not get killed in the process if I can.

Joes crab shack?????? Salt grass Steak house?????  Guys this gentleman is asking for a great place to eat. Never recommend a a chain restaurant to someone. They can get that stuff anywhere in a big city. I will echo the Gaidos post. If your in Deer Park you are pretty close to Galveston. Great fresh gulf seafood about an hour from Houston and you can walk the seawall after dinner. Great way to spend an evening. I'm thinking me and Mrs Rhino might head there for our 22nd anniversary next month.

China Garden downtown, Leeland & Crawford, massive egg rolls and get the lemon chicken. For a nice Steak Vic and Anthony's, may have to dress nice for that one. In Galveston, Fish Tales on the seawall will have the best seafood. Also in Galveston is the Spot for a good burger. Pizza places that people will argue are the best will be, Franks, Star and Fuzzy's. I like Franks. Tex-Mex i like Pappasito's Cantina.
