OK,
I got the new hub and I replaced the pots in my CH stick. This fixed the bouncy/flutter issue. Now, I still can't get the CH manager to read input from the stick, so I guess I'll stick with the windows driver for now.
Yeah, that's right, you just got your rear handed to you by a fuggly puppet!

Just gonna take a wild stab in the dark here and ask, did you click on the test/calibrate button and then click on "Rescan" at the bottom of the window that pops up?
