Salute on the turnout
« on: January 14, 2012, 02:50:44 PM »
And thanks for the help.  It amazes me that 360 players spent their Friday night killing cartoon airplanes.  It speaks to the design and probably that a great deal of us need psychological help.  Before the event, I was in late war and someone asked:  "Can I just walkon to FSO?"  Before I could say anything, about 30 players explained the rules to the poor guy.  You guys really make our job easier.  I get into trouble for being a rabid FSO propoent... but if you can setup and fly in FSO...you can do anything (except make maps, those guys are freakin weird).  Just wanted to say BIG THANKS to all of you.  CYA in the air!

Thank You Big Rat.  The truth is, as setups, we just build what the Admins dream up.  And, Admins are weird people.  But, it is truthfully you guys as the FSO players that make the event.  Come on, admit to me the time that you were mad at what happened in FSO for like, three days.  Remember that time when everything went your way?  FSO will take you to the heights... and then crash you down again.  I love / hate it so much....

Hiyas, Pliss! I woulds talked to you via vox earlier tonight but I'm rusty on bout everything, including setting up my mike settings in my box before I fly. Nope, not Guthrie, Okla ... 'Arlo Guthrie.' I'm 219 miles/3 hrs 41 mins straight south. Right near Hitech. Actually, they moved the company further away from me to Ft. Worth. I think it's to get away. =0-)

We love/hate it so much becouse we are always looking forward to it.  When it doesn't go to expectations we're disappointed.  Kinda like going to Disney World and half the rides are shut down, then again the good times are like showing up at Disney World and there is absolutely no lines for anything.  Most are something in between.  In any case as long as their is FSO I should remain here at Aces High, and guys like you help that happen  :aok .   I enjoy training people but FSO always feels like the real game to me.

Too right! I joined Aces High to fly in the Battle Of Germany scenario last year. 9GIAP invited me to fly with them in FSO too around that time and I've been here ever since.

Big <S> to all in FSO.

cheers

To many, FSO is Aces High, the Main Arena is really just for practice since it's so arcadeish.  :D

On a side note, how fun would it be if you had to pay $15 per life in the MA? Surely people would act differently in the air!  :rofl

FSO is why I decided to volunteer to be a CM.
FSO players is why I think I'll stay for a while, even though I'm not doing much else in-game at the moment.

BTW, 2 players came in after launch but were still able to fly. That means total turnout last night was 357!  WTG!  Obviously, it was target rich for both sides!

I would like to see a turnout around 450 on average by end of the year with some peaks around 500.

I believe that there should be a little GV fight in an isolated corner of the map with a neutral base for capture back and forth or CV fleets with PT Boats and Naval Aircraft starting at T + 30 every FSO.  This would serve as a way of enticing MA players to fly the FSO Mission.  When they get shot down early, then they have a secondary mission to do right away.  T + 60 can be a 35 minute wait and many would head over to MA.

Over an extended time, several months, this should bring FSO numbers back to 500+.

Just my 2 pennies.

 :D

Is it possible that employers willing to pay an annual salary of 500k might expect those caliber of employees to be able to spell?

What a great game, and I agree with ya Kuya, I'm always talking in the main to new guys about the FSO, I would love to see the numbers go up.  Ideas like yours along with a little bit of attention paid to new folks to get them interested will make the numbers improve IMO.
